Is there something I can down load? I just got a ps3 slim. I think it's the 120 gig. Thanks for your help.

60 gig as well. Apparently mine is a limited edition PS3. I play PS1 games on mine all the time.Amnestic said:Have you sacrificed two goats and a baby lamb to Sony yet? Remember: You need to collect the blood and then scatter it on an oat field.
If you scatter it on a wheat field it won't work.
Only the fat PS3s with 80gbs or the old 60s can do it. I think that was why they were fat in the first place. I believe you can get used ones for under $300 now.RockTalk21 said:Is there something I can down load? I just got a ps3 slim. I think it's the 120 gig. Thanks for your help.
I heard that they were working on being able to emulate the PS2 hardware through a future update. Sony patented a method to emulate the PS2 on the PS3 through use of the cell chip, although im not sure how. As to whether it will ever amount to anything, who knows?fix-the-spade said:Very simple, you don't.
If you've bought a slim you have no PS2 compatability, at all, ever.
The software emulation is what was in the last set of PS3's before they cut compatability. They've already done it and cut it as well.tk1989 said:I heard that they were working on being able to emulate the PS2 hardware through a future update. but anyways, yeah, there is no PS2 compatibility on the PS3 slim at this time.
Yeah, i know that they did use software compatibility for a while (namely in the European versions of the consoles) but it was lame, half assed and useless. In the past year they have been on working on new, more effective ways of emulating PS2 software:fix-the-spade said:The software emulation is what was in the last set of PS3's before they cut compatability. The first ones had PS2 hardware, the next ones had software emulation and the generation before the slim had none at all. The word from Sony is that PS2 compatability is gone, it's one of the things they cut to try and make the PS3 less expensive to make and the official line is it's gone, dead and buried.
