I would like to wipe the entirety of my computer without losing the OS as I do not have the disk with me as the computer came with it installed.

In the past with windows 7, I have inserted the disk and have just gone from their but do not know how to do this without it.

Please help.

If you don't have the disk, it can be a challenge. If the manufacturer didn't provide a disk, they may have provided some method of creating a "recovery disk" (or something with a similar name) in the preinstalled software on the computer. If you can find something like that, create one of those and have at it.

If there's no such option, you might be in a bit of a predicament. You may be able to get the manufacturer to ship you a disk, depending on the company, warranty status of the computer, and kindness of the rep you get on the other end of the phone. Failing that, I'm afraid you'd probably need to get a disk somehow. If you have either a school or employer to go to, they may have a deal with Microsoft for discounted copies of Windows; that may be a less expensive way to get a hold of a legit copy.

Good luck!
