Like a little *****. >_>

...

Anyway... I've never really been much of a coffee drinker. I do drink coffee-ish beverages every now and again, but I prefer to rely on things like real food and a good night's sleep to give me energy.

3 packets of aspartame-based sweetener + 4.5 teaspoons of original Coffee-mate + light/medium coffee = my coffee

I don't mind it black if the coffee is fresh and hot. However, I can't stand iced coffee; it's heresy.

I like the taste. I like to start my mornings with coffee with some Vanilla cream no sugar. I like vanilla and i like the bitterness of coffee. Black is interesting but i cant always have it that way since it bothers my stomach.

Funny, i was just about to leave The Escapist for a moment when i saw this thread's title, then i noticed the cup of coffee in my hand.

Yes, i do like the occasional cup of coffee. Though mine is incredibly weak, and filled with sugar. It's cause it has a sugary taste, with some bitterness. Pure delight.

Black with only sugar in it for most coffees. But I do enjoy a mocha now and then.

Go for a French Vanilla flavored coffee with milk and sugar. Has more of a confectionery taste- quite nice, sweet, and refreshing.

Well, as a recommendation, start with cappuccino probably, then after a while, coffee with milk and sugar, then just milk, and then black.

Strong and sweet usually. Sometimes with rum.
Dammit I was ninja'd by a pony.... again!! This is happening far too much of late.

Replace Sometimes with mostly, and you're a total ninja pony.

I started drinking it black, and now I can only drink it black, with some hot chocolate or spiked with a shot of Jameson's Irish Whiskey. Having it with sugar is akin to having my chest pummeled with charged defibrillators.

namely why is Tim Horton's coffee so popular?
In my case, that's because their ice coffee is heavenly, with just the right [to my taste] blend of coffee and maple syrup (or is it another ingredient ?).

As for the OP, something easier to start with is macchiato because it has a lot of milk, so it's much sweeter to the taste.

Large double double coffee from Tim Horten (If your not Canadian, 2 cream, 2 sugar) and lukewarm or even cold.

Coffee is not actually as bitter as most people make it these days. Most coffee is in fact burned and therefore it tastes bitter but well made coffee is not nearly as bad. I am in total agreement with you in that Starbucks coffee is shit in general.

Most often I use something along the lines of this:

http://caribbeantrading.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/coffee_sock.jpg

and run hot water through it (run the strained coffee through more times for extra flavor) instead of using a machine. This comes out a lot less bitter.

I learned this method from my mother who is Puerto Rican and developed a taste for it because I started drinking it at 12 but everyone has their coffee preferences (some like it really bitter, I am looking at you Germany), just don't use Starbucks as a representative for the rest of the drink, they are a blemish on the face of coffee.
