Yay... quoted =D
No problem, Daft Punk are pretty awesome. I'll have to try and find a clip of this clown from Band of Brothers , it sounds quite amusing =)

Edit: probably isn't going to be the same clip though youtube has provided some interesting results for that search....
Many laughs were laughed when I had it.

Normally, if it isn't a controversial topic, I'd be anticipating what's inside.

If it is a controversial topic such as say, Illegal Immigrants or what Japan went and is going through, (both subjects I made threads about.) Then I kind of dread them as people may tell me how pathetic I am, how I'm completely wrong, or in some cases, wish me death. Which is why I try not to make those kinds of threads anymore.

It happens every so often. The little box tells you you have one new message, it's in the quoted folder. How do you feel?

For me I get the excitement of having said something important enough for someone to want to reply or expand on what I've said. That and the worry that I've posted something sounding quite aggressive and it's going to be someone calling me out on being a prick.

So, how do YOU feel?
I'm neither here nor there about it, but I thought I'd quote you here just to give your day a little boost.
Thanks for that, it did actually make me feel pretty good.

I was a bit worried this thread would be just one person saying "No, you're an idiot", glad that other people feel as happy or apprehensive on quotes as I do

It used to excite me, but now I can't really say that it bothers me that much anymore. It's nice that someone has quoted me and if it leaves room open for a response then I will reply as soon as possible, but that's about it.

I see the red text, and it's like all my Christmases have come at once! Then I click the thing, and I find out I've just got a new badge... which kinda sucks.

The worst was when they added the extra credits badges, because I got about 10 of them at once, so I thought I must have said something so deeply profound that a small culture had formed around it. That was possibly the third or fourth biggest let-down of my entire life.

It feels kind of nice knowing that someone has taken the time to read through my opinion.
Unless of course they then pick a fight.
Then I run away.

It depends on what is being quoted. If I am being quoted on something I just said that I thought was worth debate, I welcome it. I am being quoted on the first initial post I made of a thread that is now 3 or 4 pages long (or more) and someone is correcting me or answering a rhetorical question or even just a regular that has already been responded to like 5 times, I start getting a little ticked off.

ECSTATIC, and slightly unnerved.
...And that applies regardless of content, the very fact that I've been given the chance to continue any conversation is a wonderful thing for someone who is as infinitely interactive as me.
No challenge or question is too terrible to dissuade me from the happiness cause by the fact that It has been issued to me!

Annoyed, it is rarely someone agreeing with me. Until the message has loaded I'm usually feeling a little pissed off. "Here we go again!" or "What are they complaining about this time?"

I like it, it makes me feel all special. Yes, even when they're questioning my intelligence; I guess we all now know how special I am...

Usually its just people agreeing with me or answering a question I had, other than that I had one person try to debate me on something and he was swiftly ignored. In general I get a little nervous thinking someone's going to debate me and their one of those people that won't rest until they get their debate. if that wasn't the case in that particular quote and someone agreed with me I feel all warm and fuzzy for about 3 seconds then I forget it ever happened.

I always assume that little message is referring to notifications from user groups (get a lot of those), so I tend to be surprised when I see that the Quote section of the inbox is the one with a new message (or multiple new messages). At that point, my usual reaction is "Oh great, now what did I say that someone is responding too?". I don't tend to produce a lot of genuine acrimony though, and I pointedly avoid the various breeding grounds for demagogues and zealots so most of those quotations are positive or at least fairly cordial, but I still sort of dread finding out each time it happens.

And it happens a lot - the inbox has long since started deleting old notifications so I can't really check anymore, but I think it wouldn't be unreasonable to suggest that for every 4 posts I make someone will quote me once. Apparently I say things people feel the need to respond to a lot? But hey, at least I know that somebody was reading those things I said for whatever mad reason inspired me to type them, so that's nice I guess.

Used to be a mix of mild Joy from having a Post be noticed by somebody and a Fear that I somehow did something horribly wrong.

Now it's just a mix of Interest and Fear...
Be nice to get the Joy part back.
