If one of my toe is numb, is it broken?

Media companies have got to rethink there announcements more wisely. As soon as you say, "The trailer for this movie will show this Monday", you know someone, somewhere is going to find it and leak it. Yeah, they often get caught but was it worth it? Marvel went through it with Avengers, DC just went through it with Batman v Superman. Its even more annoying when the leaked footage is so low quality or just someone who recorded the screen and has no idea how to hold a camera. Oh and the Game of Thrones episodes being leaked? If people are that desperate to see the first four episodes and can't wait, then good luck to them. Impatience is very stressful for the mind.

What's your thoughts on "leaked" anything? Stupid? Beneficial? Strange? Wrong?

FIGHT!!

Added Note: Just saw the official teaser for Batman v Superman and I like it a lot for something that still has a year to be released. I like seeing adaptations and alternatives to different comic book movies. I suck I know, internet.

I think they are intentinal marketing ploys. I mean a Leak is more interesting than a scheduled reveal.

But personally, i think both are pretty dumb and reek of arrogance.

If it's fun media stuff, cool. If it in any way involves a baby's diapers, very not cool.

Also, they go great with ducks. I know, it sounds so farfetch'd...

Depends. If I can get some distance on it, it's a rather enjoyable experience. Though for the 6am variety, I've had better.

Oh.. OH! Media Leaks.. Good when I don't care, bad when I do..

( HA HA HA.. The wife heard me ask the question out loud and said from the kitchen~ "The plant? Heard they make good "onion rings".. Why do you want me to get some?")

Well, as wise man once said there is a sucker born every minute.

In that aspect "leaks" are powerful to certain extent.

Besides if nothing it will achieve at least much stir on the fans as an official announcement. The company has nothing to lose by those "leaks".

P.S: check the bleeding or cracks on the toe. I recommend steel toed safety shoe for the future.

Media leaks are to bait pirates, and test public approval. Wikileaks are there to keep the powerful accountable, and vegetable leaks are there to make soup, and dips. All leaks are good, unless it's a leaky pipe.

Ditto here. The only "leaks" I believe are the ones where like a full movie turns up in some Chinese marketplace or torrent site before it's actually supposed to be released. But I don't believe anything as far as trailers or "behind the scenes" footage, or even just fully completed scenes has really and truly been LEAKED in a long time. It's just a way of attracting attention in a very cheap way, exploiting the nature of viral videos and social media. The forbidden fruit is always sweeter.

Leaks are terrible, they drain all the water out of your radiator... Though I hear A1 Radiators is the best place in to take a leak...

Wait... Media leaks!? Bah unless it's something that slipped out before release it's a publicity stunt.

The only kind of leaks that are really harmful are intelligence leaks that get otherwise honest and good people killed. Those kind of leaks can just cease to exist thank you. Also the leaks from peoples personal lives that make their lives harder, and that others exploit. Seriously. Those suck.

Also the vegetable is spelled L-E-E-K, leeks are great, you can even dip them in salt and eat them raw.

I think most of the time they aren't actually "leaks".
I don't really care or hunt down leaks, I something interesting gets leaked, cool I get know something early. In most cases I don't think it's harmful.
I had friend who got the Wolverine movie early because it was apparently leaked though it wasn't finished and was missing some special effects. I don't really see the point of watching an inferior version before you watch the actual finished movie (hopefully somewhere where you actually paid for it).

According to WebMD... Your cancer might have cancer.

I wish they'd stop announcing the announcements. If something is ready to go now, then release it now.

It's bullshit when a trailer becomes more of a draw than the random movie or TV show that plays afterwords.
I'm not going to sit through a 3+ hour long Bowl game, with teams I don't give two shits about, just to see the new Ultron clips. And, I'm not going to be spending $10 for the mere privilege of watching a commercial for the movie I want to see.

Eh, the "leaks" that get publicized by the people who are supposedly the victims, I generally regard as publicity stunts, especially when nothing damaging is leaked and it serves as a promotion.

the first four episodes of GoT leaking in their entirety online was a real leak. It was something that obviously hurt HBO, and any publicity they got from it is cancelled out by potential loss of ratings. Ditto for the first 3 episodes of the third season of "the Legend of Korra" leaking, forcing them to rush premiering the show.

but yeah. "super special awesome trailer of upcoming movie accidentally leaked!!1!"... Perhaps I'm cynical, but I just never buy into that.

I don't really care. I can't tell most of the time if the "leak" was a actually leaked or if it was deliberately released, so I assume the latter. I don't really keep track of what the current big thing is anyway.

Go and see a doctor. It might be broken. If you can move it without pain it probably isn't, but if it is numb for longer than a few minutes you might have a serious problem.

Bingo! As someone who has work 8 years in Public Relations and MArketing, this is exactly the case. Do you really think these leaks are actually so? Nope! You see a while back leaks were really information that leaked out. This was around the late 90's and early 2000s. The PR companies picked up on it pretty quickly noticing that if you call something a leak it implies it's information the audience was not supposed to hear, which implies it was a secret. Old saying is if you want people to pay attention... whisper.

Stupid not, really. Remember, the point is to generate and maintain a media presence,. An advert will generate a little buzz, but as you may have noticed when something is a leak, it maintains a media presence on the internet far longer.

What's better the leak doesn't have to be real information.

Oh i didn't mean stupid in the sense that it doesn't work. I know it works, every week a new thing is leaked. It's stupid in the sense of " i can't believe this is what is required to get people interested, and we keep falling for it".

Marketers are extremely aware of what it takes to make a buzz.

Very important point, also advertisement costs money, leaks are reported as news. Maybe news site know about it and benefit form extra traffic or maybe not. We could even consider if things they want to get leaked are intentionally poorly secured and the leaks are in fact real-ish.

OT: If I'm not going to enter the realm of conspiracy theories and things I can't prove then I don't care about details being leaked one way or the other. I am simply tired of trailers and teasers.

I could go on about my musings here, but I'll be honest and say I don't know enough about this to actually make a valid response.

Leaked personal stuff (barring, say, correspondence between politicians and the like about politics) is very invasive, and often a serious crime.

On the one hand, I don't care as long as no one's getting hurt and shit... But on the other hand, I hate leaks with a passion because of their unpredictability as well as its predictable unpredictableness...

In other words, I really don't like the concept of leaks and its current present usage...
