This is a pretty simple question, how do you fight? Whats your strategy? It doesn't matter if this is the way you fight in games or real life. If its in games it can be from FPS to Strategy games, the same concepts often apply.

Personally I tend to like to wait for my opponent to make a move and counter attack or evade in a way where he uses more energy than me. This applies both to games and real life. I tend to be a very defensive person in strategy games especially. I wait until I have the overwhelming upper hand and deliver the appropriate attack. That situation has never came up in real life however, I have never been in a fight that was not somewhat balanced so I have always been reactive rather than aggressive.

What about you guys/gals?

Retreat to a defensible position and then wait for them to throw everything at me.
Then roll in with the cavalry.

I've done a good bit of viking reenactment, and I can say for 100% that it all depends on the weapon. With a scramseax, I am more agressive. With a sword, I am more reserved. With the short spear (I much prefer using it without a shield, with a shield a spear is poo in single combat), I am a mixed bag.

Never been in a real fight, but I'd say judging from my temperment and tactical outlook I'd say I'd be more of a counter fighter if that makes sense.

I'll go with strategy games.

I prefer to play defensively, wait for my opponent to make a mistake, then overwhelm them and exploit it as much as possible.

real: misdirection and evasion. Let my opponent's force work against him while applying counter force and quick jarring jabs to do the most damage with little to moderate effort.

Games: well, depends on the game and how superior I am to the opponent, but usually conservatively, trying to match their force against whatever they're list equipped to handle. Im the guy that has his iron sight/cross hairs up and takes a corner slowly while in a fire fight going for chest and head shots to use as little ammo as possible.

In real life, I act really stupid and flail around a little, and tell them to put up their dukes. Usually kills any tension that there might have been, I'm a lovable jester, not a fighter. In FPS's, I hide a lot and shoot like crazy, my brother distracts them. In RPG's, magic all the way, except for Bethesda's games, then it's stealth.

Grab heavy blunt object, hard swing to legs, followed with swing to arms.

I am a proud member of the FFFA (Fuck Fair Fighting Association).

Mostly fall back and defend, and wait for my opponent to give me an opening, then I hit as hard and often as I can with overwhelming force. There is no such thing as overkill and fighting dirty is always an option.

Take the fight to them! Not that I'm not stealthy though. I improvise heavily. I'm a scrapper inside and outside of games. Not been in too many fights though. I'm too good at talking to let most situations escalate much.

I'm pretty much a skeleton with skin, so in real life I try to use my opponents moves against him. I have sent people slamming into walls or asphalt many a time.

I also try not to overwork myself in a fight. It just makes me worse than I already am.

If all else fails, I am never without my 10" Chefs Knife (I even had a leatherworker make a sheath for it.) Who said I had to fight barehanded?

Real Life: "Okay, that looks like a good weapon, now swing it around like a mad man!"

Games: "SHOOT EVERYTHING THAT MOVES!"

In all honesty that is a pretty accurate description of how I fight, I may have exaggerated in the games part a bit though. I usually confirm that it's an enemy before shooting it.

In real life, I punch things while making sure not to let my opponent lay a hand on me. Usually this involves tripping them if I can. and if it's not meant to be competitive I play as dirty as possible. That being said I don't fight competitively. though I would like to.
in video games I smack stuff around until it's dead.

In games I tend to be more offensive than anything else. For fighters (Mortal Kombat and the like) and hack and slash/adventure games (Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry etc) I rarely touch the block button.
In shooters I tend to charge forward firing like crazy until my gun goes empty, then run like hell as I reload and repeat the process as necessary.

Superiour troops, bottlenecks is the strategy I prefer in most situations. Use the environment to the max. Get them where you want them. Then butcher without mercy. This works in most genres. And RL

Never actually been in a proper fight in real life.

But in strategy games, it's basically overwhelm the opponent with my sheer tactical knowledge of my army.

well in games i have the reflexes of a limp kitten most of the time or when i really get in the zone they can be instantaneous however for the most part i stick to rts's and i just research as many advances and use stealth units
in real life i don't really fight the one time i did a kid ran over my foot with a bike and i punched him in the face and he just went home crying and then i went and appoligized (we're still friends now) i also bit a kid who was really angering me and i broke skin and later it turned green (i didn't brush my teeth when i was little)

Hmm. I fight a little differently in real life then I do in video games.

In real life I usually try to be quick and hit fast but try to stay out of the other person's way. When I bodyboxed with a friend of mine who is significantly bigger than me, I managed to bring the fight to a draw because I apparently hit extremely quickly which surprises people.

In games I usually just run straight in. Not much strategy except to get around them and take out two or three at a time.
