Like so, sat in my comfy reclining chair in front of my desk . You can't really see them but my ps3 and 360 are behind the monitor/laptop and I can plug them into my monitor so I don't have to move.

I just sit in my desk chair, elevating it to full height since my TV is on top of my dresser. I don't focus on a single game, instead I bounce around between a few. I actually just posted on a thread about the games I'm playing and for a super-brief version of that:

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night
Okami
Shadow of the Colossus
Final Fantasy IV & VII
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Skyrim
Pokemon Red, Black, White, Leaf Green
Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D

I'm a busy, busy gamer...my deviant-art watchers are going to stop watching since I keep promising them stuff and putting it off indefinitely but I think they get off on it (half of them anyway...)

Also, when I play 360 games, I have to use MY X-360. My GF has one but I feel more of a connection when I use my own rig and, controller.

My main PC is in my bedroom, have a nice desk and chair setup and I play with headphones on. Downstairs I have my PS3 and second PC in the lounge hooked up to my 40" TV and surround sound. Take regular breaks, chill out in the conservatory or whisk something up in the kitchen and play til late :)

I usually play sitting on the edge of my bed on the floor depending on where I'm at in the house. Usually my girlfriend either sits behind me on her laptop or walks around the room listening to her music.

However, lately since we've moved we sit on the old couch with the tv on the coffee table, and she throws her legs up on my knees like a foot rest. Pretty comfortable when playing skyrim.

With an Xbox on a shiny new TV, whilst sitting on a couch under my bed. I live in a dorm, you see.

More likely than not sitting, preferalbly on a chair.
I usually place my self based on what is within a good angle of the tv.

Sitting in my brown recliner that used to belong to my grandpa, small folding chair in front of my for my feet (the recliner has something broken and the chair doesn't lock in place with the leg rest extended), my Mac in my lap, and the pullout section of my desk is nearby with my cell phone and a drink of some variety on it.

This is essentially my "rest of the house don't bother me" position as well as my gaming position. I watch movies, TV, and play games from this same setup.

In the winter I put a snuggie in between my and my Mac and if I'm playing a game that doesn't require much focus on story (Shooters online, and sports games mostly) I'll Skype with people. I've had so many interesting, meaningful Skype conversations while playing Halo 3, ODST, and Reach online. I often found I played better when I had something to shift my focus so I wasn't over thinking things.

The worst part is when I get settled in just like I want to and then I realize I have to pee. That's the worst.

100 mandatory push-ups to get myself pumped to dominate some scrubs. What's your game?
So you want to destroy a comedy show? I kid.

Sometimes with a teddy bear but usually in pajamas, just so comfy. Preferably by this monitor on Steam with a head set.

My TV is in my room. If my controllers reach, I sit on my bed. If they don't I sit in this lawn chair I have set up. Maybe a can of coke in reach, nothing special.

I'm going to say either "X-TREME" or "TO THE MAX," and then pump my fist in the air and chug a Mountain Dew. Then I will probably vomit and pass out, but not necessarily in that order. I like to leave some wiggle room in my plans.

Then I'll wake up, wash my face, and sit at my desk, where I have two monitors next to each other; one monitor for the PC and the other for the 360 and PS3. They are next to each other because I hate only doing one thing at a time, so I have to watch something on one while I game on the other. Is game a verb? Fuck it. While I game... TO THE MAX!

In front of a glass desk on a nice leather chair. With a can of coca-cola, which in 10% of the situations promptly gets spilled.

For me it's a late night thing these days. I don't get to game as often as I used to, because I got a new, more demanding job, and so time with my girlfriend has taken precedence over gaming, for those of you still enjoying a lot of free time - make the most of it! But yeah, it's sat at my PC, with a set of really nice headphones, and escaping for a few hours. That's about it I suppose, my only pre-game ritual is checking reddit/the escapist to see if there's anything I might want to get for my next session.

Interesting question...even if it has yielded some really bland answers like mine

I have two chairs in my room. One is a stationary dining room chair and the other is a wheel chair. I sit in the wheel chair and I place my food and drinks on the stationary flat chair since it's at the right height. At least that's with console gaming. I also have a custom made controller but I'm not advertising anything. My normal pre-xbox ritual is the following:

Grab a soda bottle.
Make some cheese fries/nachos
Take them snacks to the gaming room, set it all down.
Boot up, see who's online.
Once the game is at the menu, I can have my first fry/nacho. During the loading screen, first sip. Everything from then on is dependent on the game and such.

I often game in bed due to my weak spine which makes sitting up straight/slouching for too long difficult. I also often watch tv while gaming if I've played the game before/it's not a plot heavy game.

I have the TV in my room. Very soon to be HD. No room for a chair so I just sit on the end of my bed. If I'm in it for the long haul I usually lay on my stomach with pillows under my chest half way through the session.

bottom-half naked. because i sit on my left leg. because i tilt my chair.
now the reasoning:
if i wear jeans, then they make those indentations in my legs and cut off just enough blood flow to give me a dead leg and make me plow through my wardrobe when I get up. i sit on my left leg because that way i can use it to balance on my tower and also not put my foot through it. i tilt because i'm weird.

All my extra income that is not headed for my little girls collage fun goes to my "EPIC MAN CAVE!" I keep an 360, Ps3, WII, and a PC(media server with some gaming power) all in the living room for my family and any guests we may have. But when I have time to sit down and game it is off to the "EPIC MAN CAVE!" I can crank the sound up, keep all my extras like the racing wheel and flight sticks out, swear at people, and I have a fridge in there, and all of the furniture from the old living room set. I got strange lights, all my ThinkGeek crap, and the posters and collectibles that come with special editions out there to. Plus I can keep my Dreamcast and other old systems out there. I work hard and I play harder if I want to crank it up to 11 and get smashed with my friends playing rock band I have the perfect place for that. It may sound like I am boasting and maybe in a way I am, but I love what I have made and the freedom it gives me to let my FREAK/GEEK flag fly.

Balls to the wall!

AKA Hardcore... and by hardcore I mean, in a comfortable chair with my quilt wrapped around me and a nice cup of tea so I dont get cold. For tactical reasons, of course.
