How do you handle problems? Be honest!

I usually just think about it until I can think of a solution to my problem, then I fix it.
That thinking period may be 2 seconds or 2 months. I always come to a solution, and always fix the problem.

Unless its girls.

As usual, first post seems to hit the nail on the head for me. This is usually how I solve my problems.
The strange part is, there's something I like about being in a sticky situation and devising a way out of it.

Hm. You know, I have to say, sometimes being worried might be an appropriate response. If you're happy with your life now, then I have no right to judge, but I'm a little surprised someone could make a big life decision like dropping out of college so easily. The reason most people are fazed by problems is because a "problem" in life is basically an indicator that you're about to make a choice with some significant consequences. And if you don't have some sort of emotional connection to it, I'd worry that the choices you make might not be the best for you. (Sorry if I sound preachy.)

Though on the other hand, I sometimes stress out about small problems so much I end up ignoring them until they turn into big problems. So maybe there is something to be said about a cavalier attitude towards life.

No, you have a valid point. I'm not a risk-taking person, so my flippant attitude to most things doesn't usually land me in much hot water, but I often wonder if (probably when) it will. As for the dropping out, I didn't really just "decide" to do it, I just slowly stopped attending class until I suddenly realized I was too far gone and dropping out was the only course of action. I also want to make clear that I don't ignore my problems (unless they are completely petty), I confront them; it just doesn't affect me much emotionally.

I have a method called the Commander Shepard. Whenever a problem arises I think up a nice response, a rash response, and a neutral response, choose one and assign myself points accordingly.

Everyday problems I just think up the easiest solution to. Girls, however, defy logic and thus require a cigarette.

If it's a simple momentary problem it just gets done. Usually for everything else, I hide and take time to think. And I think far too much.

Over thinking. Every problem that I face I feel I have to think the solution through to a stupid degree, and because I am somewhat of a pessimist, I always imagine at least 10 different ways that my solution can fail. I am not the kind of person that faces my problems head on either. So I've been known to go with the "If I can't see you, you can't see me" way of problem solving in the end.

to be honest I avoid them,and then things snowball, and I try and forget about them untill they become so big that it blows up in the most horrible panic inducing way.......

My preferred solution to a problem is to lower my expectations until it isn't a problem anymore. I guess I'm a bit of a doormat.

I tend to get really angry and then begin talking to myself usually repeating my predicament to myself over and over again and then going of on a long rant and doing a bit of pounding. I try to internalize more when the problem occurs in public but sometimes it still comes out. Its something I really need to work on especially because at some point in my life I'm probably going to have a roommate who won't be as understanding of it as my parents are.

If i absoloutly hate a class Im doing I grin and bear it and see it though to the best of my ability,I allways try to put my best effort forward though I admit sometimes I will complain for a few days but I will do something in the end.

6 years running, and all the problems with girls that I think I've solved with girls, are not actually solved, and its somehow my fault. I won't drag you into my running /life drama though. I'll just say girls are silly. And that is putting it lightly.

I ignore a great deal of my problems. I cannot recommend that as a course of action, though. It's rather fucked my life.

Sadly, a great deal of my problems are caused by myself, and shooting pieces of me off my body isn't exactly my ideal way of dealing with issues.

That's only if I'm seeking one answer. My question was open-ended to allow for multiple answers, but I can't force people to give more than one if that's how they interpret the topic.

i ignore and evade problems into until they're staring me in the face, then i either deal with them or freak out because i'm overwhelmed.

its a crappy cycle, but i don't know how to avoid it.

I bottle it up, pure and simple and then like two or three days later it's gone, doesn't bother me anymore at all. I don't really like to talk about, especially not in person because talking about it might make me tear up and I HATE crying in front of people. Sometimes I get depressed then I say to myself, "self....quit being such a *****, get over it already"
