How do you raise your Pokemon?

Since Black and White came out, I've been spending a very large amount of my time playing Pokemon games. Back in the day, I used to just raise a party of six with my team in mind from the beginning, but I see now that I was kind of missing half of the point in doing that. I've been playing White and HeartGold lately with the intention of raising more than one team, but I've hit the obvious snag- how do I get the experience? Making it through the game has never been too hard, but when you can't re- battle 95% of the trainers in the region(s), I wonder how I can actually raise additional Pokemon for any practical purpose. I still enjoy the series, but I would appreciate some suggestions on how you raise Pokemon outside/ after the main storyline.

Couldn't you just grind? As in, go to the areas where there are the highest level wild pokemon, and then just fight them over and over and over and over again until your pokemon reach the desired level. Pretty simple...at least, I think it is.

By fighting wild pokemon...duh.

Best if you can use type advantage. Train your lvl 6 water pokemon by wasting lvl 10 fire or rock ones with water gun for example.

Ive been focusing on training my pokemon more constantly in Emerald, and I do it by fighting wild pokemon. I also take advantage of getting the EXP share item so early.

Fighting wild pokemon is the obvious way to train them besides trainers. Just make sure you use type advantage and fight appropriate levels.

You grind on the random encounters, ohhhhhh the grinding. To max lvl my whole team in Red a I just picked a patch of dirt in that cave on the way to the elite 4 and walked in circles for a few days killing whatever crossed my path. Of course there's always the rare candy which auto levels them with little effort. Don't remember if there's a limited number of them in the games or if they're just kind of expensive from the stores.
On a side note; how do I raise my Pokemon? With love, care, and copious amount of small children that nobody will miss.

Is this really it? 600 Pokemon, around half of which are good fighters with varied elemental properties and all you can do with them is beat up on the same patch of grass and the elite four for a week or so? I should have seen this coming, really. Thanks anyway.

Don't give your pokemon an exp share.

Instead, give your pokemon a lucky egg and place them in pos 1. Switch them out for your stronger pokemon to fight and watch yourself get way more experience. Rinse. Repeat.

The absolute best way however would be to grind "EV"s or effort values. You get them from every single fight in the game and they raise specific stats significantly without raising your level. I don't want to get too technical in this thread, but if you google it, you'll find tons of helpful guides.

Edit: also, fairly strong trainers respawn daily in multiple locations (notably the cruise ship and the sports stadiums.)

Well, I stock up on helium tanks, and then...

Huh? Oh, you mean playing the game? Ah, sorry 'bout that. I don't actually play it, you see.

I run around the stadiums in Nimbasa a lot. It helps, and team is doing pretty well at the moment.

Get Pokerus, EV grind (should take about forty-five minutes if you're lucky with random encounters), give it a Lucky Egg and Audino grind until about level 60 (takes a couple of hours), grind the Giant Chasm/Royal Unova until level 75, grind the Elite Four/Game Freak/Cynthia until level 100.

If you want to get to level 100, anyway. There isn't really any reason to though, since they can be bumped up or down to level 50 for Battle Subway and link battles. Except bragging rights.

I get my Pokemon and use them to savagely beat other Pokemon.

Usually they are at such a ridiculously unreasonable level from all the illegal pitfights with their wild brethren that I sort of just storm through anyone stupid enough to try and fight back.

my most recent play through on red (like... 6 months ago) i trained my starting pokemon only until i could catch a drowzee... then i only trained that drowzee/hypno, nothing else...

nicknamed him Freud, and he basically one-shotted everyone for the rest of the game, to the point where i'm almost convinced the game glitched to make psychic so powerful

if he could have spoken i'm sure he would have said rude things about my enemies' relationships with their mothers... the sassy yellow punk!

There are certain aspects of previous games (like being able to re-battle trainers or Gym leaders) that were for some STUPID reason completely forgotten in these new versions. However, there are a few places where you can re-battle trainers. There are like, ...4-5? or maybe 3... anyway, 6 to 7 or whatever a day, separated into two different buildings inside Nimbasa City, or, aka, the city where the Ferris Wheel is, and the Gym Leader with the Sailor Moon headphone style.

Otherwise, just gotta rely on wild pokes to get the job done.

Grind out the Elite Four with EXP Share equipped until they're about level..twenty.

Then I sic them on trainers that want a rematch and curbstomp them for the EV points. :3

I chain them up and force them to viciously fight wild pokemon without every feeding them (they have to eat the remains of the wold pokemon they defeat, giving them a reason to fight) Those that are not fighting are contained in a ball so that they will not run away.

I use to go, make the starter really strong... like level 10 before I'd see my first opponent(ignoring the battle at the beginning when you get the pokemon)

For Black, I made my team all strong. Then I take the strongest, use Experience Share and it equip to the weakest, then battle strong pokemon.

I made a pokemon go up from level 15 to level 34 battling a Gamefreak Trainer.

I fight trainers using the exp share or I just take my pokemon to the daycare centre. I also grind wild pokemon.

To get the most exp I fight the various trainers, in Black city the trainers located in the statdiums in Nimbasa, you can fight game freak Morimoto in Castelia city. You should get quite a bit from him. In Undella town you can fight the riches family a new member will be ready to fight every day and not only do you get exp from them, you also get a lot of money.

Although once you've fought all members, you can't fight them again.

I also challenge the elite 4 a lot and both Bianca and Cheren will fight you.

Cheren will fight you once everyday, he's located at victory road, just go to the league and head back, walk through the first cave you see and he should be standing in front of you.

Bianca though will only fight you on weekends, she's in Juniper's lab.

I've also fought and defeated Cynthia who is in the first house in Undella town, it took me a few trys though. (Fucking spiritomb) Also I would like to fight her again, but she isn't in the house any more, does she only come back at certain times or is it once you beat her, that's it.

Finally, when ever I'm fighting a 6 on 6 battle, all of my Pokemon get a go.
