How do you react to pain?

I have trigeminal neuralgia and I've kind of got used to *that* pain otherwise I couldn't function at all. Other pain is more of a curiosity, makes a nice change from the stabbing agony.

Although I almost always laugh if I hurt myself badly for some reason.

And that would be me.

As i've said before, i've been shot, stabbed, blown up and been in more fights than I could wiggle a kitten at.

I've been in pain thats incredibly excruciating and while it does hurt like a *****, for some reason it pisses me off.
...blown up?
Not "literally" as in limbs flying everywhere.

I was in a troop transport truck in Afghan that was hit with an RPG (rocket propelled grenade before someone asks if Final Fantasy attacked the truck). Made a hell of a mess of my left leg and fortunately that was it. Was thrown off the back and came to the realisation that when it comes to hitting the floor, i'm about as graceful as a limp lettuce. Just kinda belly flopped, cat like reflexes I do not have. Still hurt like fuck though.

All I can recall from when I started shooting at the prick that hit us was being incredibly pissed at him for ruining a tattoo i'd recently got on that leg. And shooting from the position i'd landed in gave me a bruise the size of a bloody cabbage on my shoulder which annoyed me aswell. Even worse when my youngest daughter was with my wife visiting me in hospital and she kept poking it ... bloody kids.
Do you still have your leg? Did you get the tattoo redone?

Did you kill the ************?

Extreme pain just kind of stuns me. I don't freak out or rage, but I get stunned/go in shock for a little bit, then shake it off. I have a really high pain tolerance, so extreme pain mostly just surprises me and throws me off. I'm not used to pain that I can't just shrug off like I normally do, so it's a bit shocking when it happens.

Kind of a, "Wat. Wat. What just happened what is this I don't even... Wat?"
"...Oh. Okay. Fuck. Okay, this is... okay, right then, time to deal with this. I can deal with this. Suck it up, self."

I usually wince or cringe and/or start swearing profusely. That seems to always make me feel better about it.

I usually fit 4 and 5 since i feel the pain for a few seconds and then my body would lockdown for a few seconds before i get the sensation to move again.

Eh, for some unknown reason I seem to be unable to feel pain in my arms. I mean, I can feel impact damage, but anything on the skin layer is just a vague sensation. Handy.
Otherwise, I'm pretty good at redirecting pain and ignoring it, wipin git over with BRAIN POWER. Unless it's really intense, in which case I am less than pleased. Because intense pain does hurt.

I'd say number seven. If I get hurt, I shout all sorts of obscenities relating to the Christian diety and various sexual reproductive body parts, or I just scream.

Depends

If its pain that I know I can deal with, I just try to keep a straight face and close it off internally.

Otherwise, I swear.....A lot....I mean, really a lot...Like drunken sailor with tourrettes levels of foul-mouthedness

i basicly ignore it until it becomes disruptive, then my reaction is to remedy the issue. this song sounds so familiar.

Usually when blood's involved I very calmy say something along the lines of "That was really f***ing painful". I much prefer that to blunt pain, such as being thumped in one place repeatedely. Then I will just try and prevent any further pain and tell the person doing it how immature they are.
I never cry to pain. What's the point? I don't need tears to clean any wounds when first aid is around.

I'm an 8 Like when I shattered my knuckle I only knew that there was something wrong because I couldn't clench my fist tightly. On the other hand the most intense pain I've ever felt drove me temporarily insane. However it did last for quite a while getting continuously worse and worse.

I still have my leg yep although it isn't "working as intended" anymore. They had to replace my kneecap with a less than usable thing that doesn't bend. Looks quite funny when walking.

Can't get tattoo redone far too much scar tissue. It's more or less mangled as far as the flesh goes. Looks awful but it's great for comparing "war wounds" with people down the local.

4 of us were shooting and he fell over but we don't know which one hit him. I'll take a rough guess and say it wasn't me, I wasn't in the best position kinda flopped on the floor like a grounded salmon but either way the bastard wasn't moving so it ended on a happy note.

On an even happier note I still milk it to this day when my wife wants to go clothes shopping it's amazing how those old wounds can suddenly flare up painfully again.

Had a trauma long time ago so basically try to avoid pain as much as possible and will start crying even though the stops after a few minutes.

A while ago, a few friends and I were had an drinking theme night. The theme was "Vikings". So we were pretty much drinking a whole lot of mead and 1 guy brought a little self made morningstar/cat-o-nine tails hybrid. I was in such a drinking frenzy I pretty much just screamend: "Hit me!" and hold out my arm, so that he could whip me on the arm. The feeling was great. But I don't always react like that. Mostly I just swear really loud to help the pain go away.
