How do you react when someone mispells or mispronounces your name?

I think it's really annoying. I don't think i have ever snapped at someone for it.

I've had to live with it my entire life. What really bothers me is that the mispronunciation makes absolutely no sense and is so trivial.

Well, my first name is pretty common, I've never seen anyone mispronounce Eric.

My last name, however, is a different story. It's Bollinger, pronounced Bowl-inge-er. You'd be amazed at how many people say it like "ball-ing-ur".

I usually just sigh in disgust, like I usually do when someone makes a mistake that I've had to correct countless times before.

I just correct them politely. My name isn't hard to pronounce, really the only mistake people make is writing it with only one "t".

My full last name is 17 letters long. I'm used to it being pronounced wrong. And my first name is spelled wrong a lot too, most people write "Courtney" which is understandable.

It doesn't really bother me.

Up to this point I'm still unsure how the hell your really supposed to pronounce it so I can't really care.

Don't really care. My first name isn't very hard to say. Only people with very heavy accents not from English speaking countries have ever not got it in my experience.

Last name generally everyone gets slightly wrong at least, so I'm used to that. If its close enough I just generally let them say it that way/ So not any more annoying than people mispronouncing any other word.

I snap on the inside but i manage to stay calm on the outside because its happened my entire life it seems no one can understand (BR-e-MEN) they always say something like Brandon or Broman and if they spell it they get really crazy, Breemman is the craziest I've seen but people usually just miss spell it Breman but i think its somewhat my fault and how i say it.

I've never really had a problem. All of my names are pretty easy to pronounce and spell.

If it's my first name I strongly consider the possibility that they might be an idiot (seriously, how can you misspell/mispronounce Tyler). If it's my last name, nothing new.

EVERYONE. It's Amia - uh-me-uh. Not spelled Umeu, not pronounced Amy, or Mia, or uh-my-uh. And certainly not Amelia!
Then again, I have anger issues.

Its kinda hard to mispronounce or misspell Henry so I wouldn't know. I have had a French teacher (from France, not teaching it) who spelled it Henri but I didn't say anything because I didn't really care.

I do the same as this guy. My last name isn't hard to read, it just people use a soft "a" (like cat) instead of a hard "a" (like made.)

Well it's never happened before, but if it DID happen, I'd just have to ask them, "How the hell did you manage that?" My name being Will, it would take a very specific brand of stupid to mess it up.

meh my parents were hippies, so I can't blame people for having trouble with it, funny thing is most people don't even know my real name.
