I always loudly correct them if they say it wrong and if they spell it wrong I get up and correct it right in front of the m(and everyone else watching in the room)

Well, I'm called Cally, which wouldn't be a problem except that I live in England, and no one seems to know how to spell that name here.

So far I've been Carly, Kayley, Candy, Corey, Carry, Cassie... and my favourite misspelling of all - Karli.

I've given up telling people.

I lol. Brian, misplace a letter, makes Brain. So that's fine with me. It was somewhat annoying when one of my teachers did that though.

Well,, my first name is
Jonathan
Only one fucking "H" and it is not directly after or before the "O".
This is easily one of my biggest pet peeves ever. I can count the number of people who've asked or spelled my name correctly the first time.

For me its quite bad since people mispell my last name as Holroid rather than Holroyd (my real last name). Making me sound like a variant of muscle building drug. I just politely correct them though.

Most people call me Tyler (my name is Taylor). I just smile and not tell them my name is Taylor. Its good fun and people seem to think its cute.

Really, though, it's your fault for spelling your name wrong.
Haha, Oh you win an internet.

My first name? Mild surprise, since it isn't that uncommon. My last name? Let's just say I give a medal to anyone who pronounces "Boerger" on their first try.

People have been mispronouncing my name from day one but I don't let it get to me because everybody does it and every single person makes the same mistake. So I only bother correcting people if I talk to them regularly. I would say what the mistake was but I prefer not to give my last name out. Not that any of you are psychotic killers or anything:)

People often add an S to the end of my last name because then it would be the same as that of a football player. As flattering as that is, its not my name and we are not related.

I just correct them politely. My name isn't hard to pronounce, really the only mistake people make is writing it with only one "t".
I do the same as this guy. My last name isn't hard to read, it just people use a soft "a" (like cat) instead of a hard "a" (like made.)
Same here. It's MARE-ee-AH-nee. Somehow people have pronounced it as 'Martini' or 'Marconi' before though.

I seldom get a mispronounced name (at least in my own country, and I'm used to the English pronunciation of my name), but I really hate it when people misspell it. There is no excuse for doing so in e-mail either, my name is spelt correctly both in my most common mail addresses and in my signatures.
I edit the correct spelling in if I reply, and if they keep misspelling it I start to misspell their name in return.
So for the past months I have been in contact with someone I constantly call 'Bryan' or 'Brien' (actually 'Brian' of course) since he seems to be unable to realize that I write my name with an i at the end, not a y.

No one has ever gotten my name right the first time. Everyone has been mispronouncing it since I was born. I just correct them and move on.

I read it as Marinara when I first saw it, but that might've just been because I was hungry.
