3D have become a huge part of film today, with the highest Grossing Film of All Time owing a LOT of that box office to the 3D. However, films by in large still unable to use 3D very well. They are getting better, but I think 3D has a long way to go. What I was wondering, how do you guys think 3D should be used in film?
Personally I think they need to stop with the "film is reaching out to you" and should be more concerned with creating a depth of field effect. Instead of reaching out to the audiance, having crap fly towards the crowd, or stuff like that, the film should be using the 3D to push the background, and making the audiance is in the film. Coraline used this thinking to great effect, making things look like they have more demensions then a flat screen.
