How do you think the fallout series should end?

Another nuclear apocalypse.

EDIT: To expand, you should fix and clear the world up and make it green in the end, but then the one remaining enemy of yours sets off another nuclear war and the ending after the credits pans over your green land as the bomb explodes and wipes out everything green again, effectively restarting the series.
I really, really like this.

I'd also be very happy if Obsidian never get their hands on it, and leave it with Bethesda.

Not in Obsidian's hands. Oh, I went there.
I agree man I really wish Bethesda was on this game instead. I think people should take one look at Alpha Protocol and still see if Obsidian should do Fallout. They are just jealous because Bethesda did it ten times better then they ever could. Too late to complain now I guess. Oh well. I thought the series should have ended with 3 in my personal opinion. It wrapped it up quite nicely.
Dude, Bethesdas Fallout 3 wasn't that good, it was fun, mediocre, but not great, I don't know who will end fallout, but I wish that it's not in Bethesdas hands...

Well to me that's always been a charm of the Fallout series, the fact that

A-The apocalypse was only the beginning for the world's new age

B-War never changes

So to end it all would be to shatter that. Besides, I enjoy the games.

Fallout isn't really building to any sort of conclusion. Plot-wise, every game is aboot some dude who is living in a post-apocalyptic future who stumbles into some crazy plot. So long as the world continues to be post apocalyptic they could keep making new games in different times and places.

Well I don't think it should end. That was the appealing thing about Fallout's setting, that you have a post-apocolypse world to make as many interesting stories out of it as you can. As long as they can do that I see no reason to end it.

As for your idea on rebuilding society, I believe that goes against the setting of the Fallout world. You see, part of the story's charm is that it's the most cynical story you can think of. A resource war where each side just fought over the last dwindling reserves instead of trying to find a new source of power, a nuclear war and even afterwards people still fight for control and power over a garbage pile.

Having such a happy ending would just.... well it wouldn't be Fallout is all I can say.

If they wanted to end it, they'd do another nuclear war. Either that, or the world overrun by puppies.

Why they'd want to give up on their giant pile of money is beyond me.

why SHOULD it end? I mean everything has to end eventually, but imo it should be like mario. It'll be around until we all nuke each other. Then we won't NEED to play a nuclear holocaust simulator.

Many of the Black Isle members who worked on the original fallout and fallout 2 (yeah after all it is Fallout 3 remember) moved to Obsidian entertainment. If anyone, obsidian should do New Vegas and believe me it's gonna be great

Honestly, if they were to ever do a series finale I pretty much agree the end should be what you make it based on your desicians.

As far as the whole Obsidian angle goes, truthfully I've enjoyed most of their games. I see them as being sort of Bioware's "B Team" nowadays because they tend to use the same basic engine.

Games like "Knights Of The Old Republic" and "Neverwinter Nights 2" not being finished properly are one of the reasons why they are criticized however (for those who say someone should play those before criticizing). The missing HK factory (KOTR 2), the fact that the entirety of Keira's plan is never explained so a lot of things make no sense (KOTR 2), several chopped plot elements, including romance plots (NWN 2), etc...

One of the big rumors however is that they have been forced to go with earlier builds by the sponsoring company, especially in the case of Atari (who did the same thing to Troika with Temple Of Elemental Evil), this done for censorship related reasons.

I do have some concerns, fearing that either their going to sanitize Fallout: New Vegas to get it published from the beginning (meaning they aren't likely to outdo Bethesda), or at the last minute be forced to again go with an alternate build.

Unrelated to either point the fact that I have not heard of Brian "Mad Dog" Fargo being involved in this is the most dubious sign. Brian Fargo being the soul of Fallout since it was Wasteland in my opinion. Faran Brygo always stuck me as the series MVP.

your character is running with the G.E.C.K. in hand to a designated tower with the ability to use it world wide, (something kl like the london eye or if we wana stay in america the statue of liberty) where you hear a loud boom, you turn around to see a mushroom cloud, as the blast wave hits you controls get disabled as the game cuts to a cinmatic of you dropping the G.E.C.K. and it getting destroyed (cue cheesy 50's music as you watch the pre mentioned building fall to peices and lots of stuff die) thinck that would follow the series dark humour quite well

As someone who has only played the game at a friend's house, this might not be plausible, but what if it ends where the whole game (and all subsequent games) were set in one giant vault, and it was all a big experiment, with no war or anything?

Basing off that idea, my friend said something about aliens, so maybe after you leave the mega vault the aliens have taken over everywhere outside the vault?
