How do you unwind after work?

Making a large bowl of bratwurst and rice while listening to music very loudly, then sitting down and eating said meat/rice concoction while watching the food network, then going and doing something fun with real people.
Until this post I really thought I was the only person who mixed bratwurst and rice. Did it once because they were the only 2 food items left in the house... now can't stop because it is awesome. Make kind of a bratwurst risoto-ish sort of dish nowadays.

But to unwind. Usually book or videogame, but to unwind neither can be too complex. Complex games or books are for later in the morning after sleep, or the weekend.

Depends on how many hours I've worked. I've mainly been working full days recently so I get in at about half 7. I'll sit down for a bit, text a few people usually moaning about my day :p have a cup of tea or hot chocolate. Then I'll come upstairs, go on Skype and visit here etc.

Sometimes if I can't find anything to do I'll watch a few anime episodes or a TV show that I need to catch up on.

If I've had a bad day, I'll stomp around the house and demand alcohol.

I consider playing video games straight away to be diving straight into another activity. I lie on the couch for like an hour eat dinner and talk to family. Then I play video games

I'm doing right now on here (surfing the net) since I just got back from work a few minutes ago.

In saying so now that the companies are doing night shift, I don't see the point turning my pc on for just an hour before going to bed, so the alternative for me to wind down is to played on my 3DS.

My older sister collected a lot of my little pony dolls during the 80s and 90s but has since left the country. They were always a forbidden object that I wasn't allowed to touch so they took on a somewhat mystical quality to me. I've since found them in a box in our parents garage so now after a hard day I inflate them with an electric air pump until they burst and then I whack off.

She had loads of them so I reckon I've got enough to last me till next year as long as I ration myself.

EDIT: I also enjoy a nice, involved, sandbox like Mount and Blade. Something I can really lose myself in.

I wank. I wank to copious amounts of porn.
I do other things later but this is the most important one.
This is the detail I felt like sharing with you.
You're welcome.

Run upstairs, grab a pipe, run downstairs, smoke with roommate, get relaxed, then put on Netflx for about an hour or so. Then back to "work" on my various hobbies to hopefully get better at and make money off of one day. Simple stuff.

Unquestionably taking a bath is the best wind down for me seeing as my job requires I get a little dirty and sweaty. Followed by usually a session in a game (usually DOTA), some YouTube videos and/or whatever show I'm watching (Walking Dead right now), and maybe a film to finish off.

To unwind, I like to take a bath, surf the internet and watch let's plays (currently watching RadBrad's gameplay of Cry of Fear) and watch a DVD, usually something like Sherlock, Blackadder, or classic Doctor Who (the Patrick Troughton or Jon Pertwee years specifically, currently have Inferno on in the background). I don't usually play videogames unless I am on holiday or when it is the weekend as I have a bad habit of starting a game and losing all track of time, which is not a good idea when I have to be up at 5 O'Clock in the morning.

Gaming, sometimes roleplaying, sometimes with a nice coold beer and a wench in my lap like any self-respecting rogue should...ahem, sorry, went all roleplay-y there.

But yeah, a good game, a cold beer. Since I'm single currently, cuddles and massages don't factor in. I miss them sometimes.

I'm going to blow you all away and have an unprecidented answer considering the theme of this website.

When I come home after work...

I play video games.

My handhelds, my Gamecube games, kicking up the gaming rig and making 3 hours melt away... It brings me right down from any tension caused from my job or school. Games have always been a daily tonic for me, far more than cartoons ever were as a kid. I have been overdoing it lately though. <.>

This guy does it right. I'm trying to slow down my habit of jumping to WoT before everything else though. Just bought FTL so I might have an addiction to fight that addiction.

I take my dog for a hike. Usually 8-12km, but the more stressful the day, the longer the hike.

If I'm traveling for work and the dog's not around then, depending on the whether, I either hit the gym or try to figure out where the local running/hiking trails are.

I recently left my job to join the army, but I did do things to unwind when I still worked.

If my day was super shitty, I would hop on my Xbox and kill things and let off some steam. If it was a good day, I would plug in my bass and play it for a couple hours or until my fingers hurt.

a few people I know don't unwind after work and it's easy to tell. People with no down time can be pretty stressful.

Gym. Destroy that body, work the day off.

Also go before you begin the day. That's the best way
A person after my own heart. I'll generally want to either game/read or read/game and then bed after training as well, depending on how late my shift ended. If it's like 3-4 am I'm hardly going to the gym so I'll just play a bit and then read in bed.

Finishing late after a stressful night I used to have a few pints with the lads but now I go home. A way healthier habit.

Spider solitaire & some tunes off my "Slow & Mellow" playlist & usually talking to people online, unless they are being losers & not talking. Or a random game & more tunes. Yeah my life is thrilling.
