How easily do you get distracted when your studying?

Forum, my exams start tomorrow and like always, the internet distracts me so much while I'm supposed to study. It's just part of my daily routine to check up on the Escapist and other forums frequently. I usually turn my PC off, but when I do that, the things on my desk suddenly become VERY interesting... except my schoolbooks ofcourse :/


Do you guys get this too? Getting distracted easily from what your actually supposed to do.
If so, how do you try and cope with it?

I get distracted easily, but then again I never really study. I just go about what I normally do, and then look at the textbook every now and then.

I embrace distraction because everything distracts me.

EDIT: Which will fail in university. I need to do really well for a major in human justice.

I don't really study. It's not possible for me, especially for subjects I don't care for. Not that it matters because studying does not really affect my grades on tests much since I usually get A's or B's no matter what. Thankfully i'm almost done with college, so I won't have to worry about this junk for much longer. ^_^

Yeah, thank god my exams are over. The past three days were torture.

I just do something like write long post [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/528.200326-What-is-socialism-and-Communism] so I can get the posting out of me so I can return to studying. Or listen to three songs and then get back to studying. Or watching 1 episode of Scrubs then getting back to studying.

It works for me. 5 min breaks suck, so just take one longer break.

I am with you OP, I have a final exam tomorrow and I am having a hard time studying for it. The internet seems so much better than studying right now. The fact this final is only a 100 level class only makes me not want to study more. Also I am very good at procrastinating and now at university it is starting to get back at me. I need to work on studying more often.

Actually, I'd switched over to YouTube for a bit, but am now back here....where I belong...when I'm studying.

I don't necessarily have to study but every time I try to do something productive I end up dicking around the internet. Like right now i really need to sleep but I laid down for a while just doing nothing now I am up wide awake.

Pretty much this...

I've never actually sat down and studied. And if I have, I've never been able to do it for more than 20 minutes and I never walk away knowing more than what I did before I started.
