so, years ago I thought up plenty of Video Games, like everyone else on this forum, but most have been pushed to the back of my mind. about a year ago I thought the games I would still want to be made arn't that good, I mean, I sometimes sit back, bored, thinking "man, I really want to play {insert made-up game} right now" but I know that these are games that would typically only appeal to me.

so how 'bout you folks, do you think your 'bigger' game ideas would actually sell well and not turn out to be a horrible waste of time and money, save for your own personal amusment?

I'm guessing everyone thinks that his own idea could sell millions, but even being aware of that I still think mine would. Call me cocky.

I'd say a multiplayer FPS similar to something like MW2 (Or really it could be like any game, or even any genre focusing on multiplayer) that is extremely flexible to what the community wants. As in, the developer would have a put a poll up on their website on whether to change a certain game mechanic about every week, and urge players to vote. Nothing more frustrating than a multiplayer game with great potential that just won't listen to the community.

Honestly, if you took MW2 and removed all the bullshit that makes people rage and balanced out the weapons it would be UNSTOPPABLE.

I used to actually write down all these maps and gameplay mechanics for games I would want made when I was like 10, and a couple years ago I found em and they're really bad. Like, they've got some okay thoughts but nothings new, it was all done to death and it was almost a joke.

But recently I thought that someone should make a super realistic sniping game. And I know Sniper: Ghost Warrior is out, but this was a bit before that (still gotta try it, but it looks pretty good). My game would actually take that concept and go further. There's the drop of the bullet, and wind direction, but my game would have like humidity take a factor, and the borealis effect, for those 2700 yard shots. Location damage would be huge, your leg gets hit, you can't walk, and no med kit is gonna 100% fix it. I also had plans for online and stuff and then I said "If I tried to make this it would take forever, why am I thinking so much about it?" and that's the last I thought of it.

Honestly it would be a niche audience but I think that niche might enjoy it.

that was basically my thoughts for one of my games, it played pretty much like Command & Conquer 4, turns out, it's not that fun. though I still play the game occasionally, just never finished the campaign or unlocked all the units.
