How I Converted To The PC
It seems that a lot of people keep going over to the consoles these days, and so I'd like to at least give a somewhat encouraging tale of how I recently became a PC player.

Humble Beginnings
It all started with a little program called Steam. Personally, I simply had it because I would use it to talk to a friend that refused to talk any other way. Then I started to notice all the little offers in the store. I had a lot of these games for the 360, but these seemed so much cheaper, and it seemed my computer was capable of playing them. Nervously, I eventually bought Half-Life, and played it, and was rather happy with it.
Little did I know, that I would eventually go down deeper.

A Blessing In Disguise
My Fallout 3 disk broke for the 360, and I was stuck without an RPG to play for quite a while. I felt I couldn't go back to Oblivion, as I had brutally raped it, and left all the characters in it for dead. And Fable 2 was a bit out of the question since I played the first one and was left with a "Nah" reaction. So, I ended up looking for Fallout 3 in the PC section, and to my gratefulness, here was Fallout 3, with all the DLC, neatly wrapped together for fifty dollars.
I bought it, and installed it on my computer, then realized something else...

The Mods Win My Heart
No, not moderations, but modifications. Fallout 3's mods I had always read about, the mods for Fallout 3 via the Escapist's very own Shamus Young. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/columns/experienced-points/6389-Experienced-Points-Mods-Playground] I searched, and found weapon modification kits, new quests, new maps, new armor, new everything, and then I searched for other games, and found many, many more mods that filled my heart's desires.

Skills like a Ninja
Surprisingly, the transition from controller to keyboard and mouse was fast. My shots were lined up much quicker, my jumps were much better, and overall, everything just seemed better on the computer.
In Short, I went from gaming on this...

Because the PC is better.

Good for you. I own both a gaming PC and a PS3, however I prefer the PC because I love indie games and my childhood (and onwards) is deeply rooted in oldschool PC gaming.

Can I get your Tv then?

Anyway, good for you. I've tried PC gaming and didn't get on with it.

...So?
Personally I don't care about your opinions on gaming, and I'll play whatever game I feel like on whatever platform I want.
You aren't going to convince anyone.

Do you possibly want a medal?

If only you had the ability to generate discussion as well as move from console to PC. The concept is scary I know.

Great, being a convert myself (PS2 to PC about 2 years ago) I didn't look back. I still enjoy the occasional PS 1/2/3, Xbox game, but PC has my heart.
Now, since you don't need that TV, I think I will just take it for my PS3...

Oh great another PC workshipper....Follow the line to door no.6. They'll give you a brainwash against consoles. Then follow Mister Gates, he'll convince you to hate Apple. And to finish, here's the Valve playground. You'll be staying here until you're convinced there's no better developper.

Ok, I'll stop joking now. I just ask you to not become the "PC are the only good thing and you're an idiot to say otherwise" kind of guy.

And since you're a pc gamer now, you just have to play jazz jackrabbit 2. It's one of the exclusives you just shouldn't miss out on.

I thought you were going to talk about how you used to be a Mac user. I was then going to make fun of you and Steve Jobs.

I game on my PC more nowadays than my 360. That might be partly due to the fact that my TV is now the communal living room TV, but still, PC gaming is awesome.

You all need to get the sand out of your vaginas. I play both PS3 and PC, different games are more fun on different systems.

I tried PC gaming, and it folded me over my desk and whaled on my ass with a steak tenderizer. Stupid bastard never had the courtesy to just shut up and make the motherfucking game work. Always required at least a week of fiddling.

So..?
There is a thing called... both. Its quite a marvel, maybe a few of the PC/Console Elitist's should try it someday. Personally, i hate how people start saying that they have been converted to a platform or another because it shows the immature logic that you can only enjoy a single platform, rather than enjoy them all for their strengths.

But that is partially why I find PC gaming so fun. You can spend more time fiddling with settings and tweaking your box instead of playing games. And it's actually enjoyable doing so.

Welcome to the dark side, drinks are available in the break room and leave a note on the fridge if we run out of anything. Oh, and if ya need anything just gimme a shout and I'll see what I can do.

Seriously though I'd give some grand story about how I'm a reborn PC gamer converted to the ways of the but it never worked that way. From the instant I played my first rts (Original Age of Empires) I was hooked on the strategy genre and... well... none of the console have more than a handful of even semi-decent strategy games while the PC had and still has a huge library of em spanning several sub-genre. It's crazy fun!

EndWar comes pretty close what with the voice commands but I agree, C&C3 is just terrible on the 360/PS3, although it could work on the Wii with the whole motion sensor thing
