So, for two weeks my PC has been down and out of order, and due to the crazy snow/ice in Scotland, my new Power Supply is indefinitely being held in some hell dimension for mail, and as such I'm envying the guys who can play their PC games. Most notably, Cataclysm.

I got into WoW earlier this year, and loved what I played, but held off from diving in until Cataclysm fixed up my earlier concerns. Now, I'm sitting here out of my mind with boredom, not even able to play LotRO, my other MMO weakness.

Cataclysm of course came out, and now I am curious. Humour me, and tell me of the new world. Escapists who play World of Warcraft, how are you enjoying the new expansion?

How's the destruction? The new races? The new race starting zones?

It's very good! Before Cataclysm was released, I was levelling a Mage in revamped Azeroth, and the updated quests are a lot better than what they were before. Each zone basically has a narrative that you take part in, and they're actually quite interesting. I was reading the quest logs a lot more, which is good considering I didn't read them at all before the change. I'm gonna make a Goblin Warrior soon to experience both the Goblin starter zone and the Horde side of the Cataclysm.

I actually changed my Rogue into Worgen too because they're fucking badass. I played the starter zone with a new character and that was dope. The cutscene at the end, whilst poorly lip synced and with bad graphics, was very cool.

I've got my Rogue up to 84, and the new zones are impressive. Vashj'ir is definitely my favourite because I love underwater zones, and it's beautiful. Uldum and Hyjal are fun too. If you like Indiana Jones, you'll like Uldum. I haven't yet been to the Twilight Highlands or Deepholm, I'm gonna hit 85 in BG's and then get a crapload of money from the quest rewards.

There's a lot I haven't experienced, but I know it'll be just as good. I'd say it's a good expansion, although I didn't really read into the details much so everything came as a surprise. I'm glad I bought it, and would recommend it to someone who enjoys WoW.

Archeology (new secondary profession) is REALLY FUN.
The Worgen starting area is incredible up until 12-15, then it's just another romp through azeroth.
The guild leveling system is cool, but some of the guild achievements are INSANE.

Overall: I'm having a lot of fun with the new content.

Trust me you won't be dissappointed! ^_^

Before i never really quested or anything, i just had fun exploring the world.

Needless to say, now i have my hands full with quests and gorgeous landscapes.

Upgraded leveling is a plus to. Went from 43-53 in merely 3 days where before it took me months to gain progress. xD Maybe i just suck

I kind of like it.

The thing that really bothers me though is how all quests in a zone are now tied together in one huge questline, or so it seems. In other words, all quests seem to have prerequisite quests. If you enter a zone when you're not at the lowest level in that bracket you have to go through a whole load of green quests before you get to the good stuff. This also removes part of the challenge since you'll never get any orange or red quests anymore.

And if you do one or two dungeons, the quests in your log are green again but you still have to do them if you want to get to the resolution. Which, all in all, feels incredibly redundant.

Sorry for the rant :p
