How is that Weird?

I was having a conference with my English professor the other day, and she thought it was weird that I've wanted to write novels since I was in sixth grade. I'm not sure how that's weird. I mean, I know that people don't normally pick their life careers in sixth grade, but what's wrong with someone that does?

Is there something you've done since you were young that others find weird?

your teacher probably just mixed up her vocabulary, and resorted to using a slightly more offensive term for unusual.

Not that weird, I wanted to write novel when I was in 6th Grade, too. Still do as a matter of fact, I just haven't tried doing it yet.

I don't find that weird at all...

Uh, weird about me, there's so much. Okay, I think I'll pick that one: I never ruined things, even as a very young kid. No holes in shirts, no shoes falling apart, my clothes usually didn't get more than a tiny little bit dirty at all.

Probably this.

And I find people's reactions to shock sites and images(such as Goatse, Lemon Party, etc.) that are of the "How can people even stand to do this?!" variety weird, and not the sites & images themselves to be weird.

Most likely this. I don't understand how that could be taken as weird at all, so it was most likely just a failure on her part to get across what she meant to.

OT: People seem to find it weird that I play the guitar. Maybe it's just because I don't flaunt it at school everyday because it'd make me feel like a douche, but no one ever sees it coming. Also, I'm not saying that the people who do play their instruments at school are jerks, just that I, personally, would feel like one if I did.

Nope, me too. Always wanted to write, have a half finished novel, a load of short stories and I'm half-way through a comic at the moment. So, obviously with so little application and ability to finish them I'm going to do the sensible thing and teach instead.

I have my quirks, I can't say I've known what I wanted to do when I was young and to be frank, even now my current dreams are a bit far fetched.

Nah, I've wanted to be a writer since I could first read, pretty much.

My thought-processes are pretty weird, but I can't really explain why, I just think about things in the least sensical way possible, particularly every-day processes that require common sense.

I've been coming up with a novel since I was 9. The problem is, everytime I put pen to paper I have a new idea that means I have to tweak the premise, and so, no story has yet been written. If it's wierd, then we shall be wierd togeather, my friend
