2008...or just a couple of weeks ago...but that one was a more of
liberal interpretation of it.
Both were to movies (Scott Pilgrim for the one a few weeks ago if anyone cares and Prince Caspian for the 2008 one

) but whoever said that a movie was a good place for a date was wrong.
No privacy and if you try to move you disturb everyone around you...but that's what I think >_>
No opportunity for conversation, if the movie sucks it doesn't matter if she's the girl of your dreams and you're the guy of hers, it's going to derail any chance of making a connection, and unless the film was very thought-provoking it's not going to spark a lot of conversation in and of itself. I never take dates to the movies unless I've been with the girl for quite awhile and we're in the "hey, _____ movie is out, wanna go see it?" assumed-date stage of the relationship.
For earlier/first dates, I love coffee shops and picnics in the park (which always seem to end with making out in the grass). Back when I lived on the East Coast, dates that started at 3 AM and ended up on the beach in time for sunrise were always a hit.
(edit: And JFK was shot on November 22, 1963. Axl Rose's first memory. He went numb when he learned to see.)
