Zero. Granted that I only ever play Exclusives on it, anymore.

Although (I'm not sure about the Slim models, the issue may have been corrected with those), vertical-standing 360s are notorious for "ringing" your discs.
I'm a little unsure as to how it "ate" your disc by playing as soon as it was inserted. Are we talking about a game console, or a VCR that's been on the fritz for years?

Only 1, Halo Reach, which I have yet to repair or replace. Happened after I turned my console off immediately after turning it on and the disc started spinning up.

I'm not an idiot with my games so... 0

I keep it on it's side, the wires not laying across the floor, and never move the thing while its on.

Ate as in it never comes back to working order again.
It makes a grinding noise while it does this, though I've had people have 360s actually eat a disc a few times to where I would have to take it apart.
And again how is making a mistake once or twice stupid. I mean I could say that people not knowing about the issue are stupid just as easily for not knowing.

None, it almost ate one waaay back, but that was because a rather large dog stepped on the 360 whilst it was on the floor at my friend's house. That CD still worked, but it got a ring scratch on it, beyond that I haven't had any issues.

None.

Though i have seen 2 of my friend's xboxes destroy a disc each. Though both were because of tipping the "box"

I didn't suggest there being any stupidity involved. I was simply mystified by the idea of putting the disc in, it booting, and immediately grinding itself (as I've never experienced this on any disc-based electronic component, myself). More or less, I thought it odd that you specified the game booting straight-away as a factor. The word "ate" just made me think of the VCR metaphor...because I've definitely caught that one a good few times!

It getting caught to the point that you have to peel the shell leads me to think that your tray might just be worn somewhere along the edge, and the disc is slipping off when it spins.

I think my original 360 ate Ninetey-Nine-Nights shortly before it gave up the ghost and died, but none since then. (I couldn't really blame it for destroying that particular game though....)
Wow, ours must have been conspiring with each other..that's the same game it ruined on mine too. Can't believe I had to go out and buy another copy of that thing. I think it happened when I had my XBOX standing vertical. Ever since then, I've never turned it on unless it was lying flat first.

Neither of my 360's ever ruined any discs. But my old power chord completely fried my old one.

I wasn't aware that it did destroy disks.
Other than turning it on it's side while the disk was spinning.

No disks ruined, but my mate's Crysis 2 disk doesn't work now. No scratches or anything, just won't let me continue with the story.
