I know I can turn it off, but I actually follow all the conversations. Thing is I only really open one message, and I just read the rest on the group's chat page because it's easier.
This leaves me with tons of leftover messages.

I only have about 53 unread messages from post responses that I've accumulated, though; I just don't want to touch them 'cause it wouldn't be worth digging up that what-not to argue about.

And 6066 posts? Great. Satan's going to come eat my cake while I sleep.

But yeah, there was actually a time on the forums when there were no reply notifications. Scary, no?

I RARELY get messages, maybe three a week at the most, depending on how much I post that week.

But I have 0 right now, that little red number is the first thing I check when I log onto this site, so it's never too high.

I delete all badge notifications after reading them, but I keep all of the notifications of people who have quoted me (it's nice to have a little archive of the things I've said, and what people said in response).

Thanks to my laptop being KO'd for 2 weeks, my vacation, School, Work, not cleaning it out at all during the summer, and moving I have 67200 but I am slowly chipping away.
Mostly from group notifications.

I also have no unread emails in my inbox. Gmail is kind enough to sort the spam out of the way so I can get into what I need to see. Essentially I delete what I don't care about and read what I do; it's as simple as that.
