I move all the time. I moved a lot just to type this out.

I moved out of my parents' house when I started university.
I moved back in with my parents when university finished.
I moved out of my parents' house once an apartment was available.
So: 3 times.

There's really no better way to determine what your essentials are than figuring out what will fit in a Chevrolet Cavalier for a seven hundred mile drive.

I moved from who-gives-a-shit Alberta, to a city in Alberta that has a university. I never left that city but I've moved from dorms to apartment to apartment to apartment to townhouse. I bought the townhouse mostly out of a desire to live somewhere I could change shit I didn't like (all my apartments had horrible bathroom layouts that I always wanted to fix) so I expect to stay a long time.

From 2006 to 2016 I moved 5 times due to being in the US military and then once more after I got out to the place I live now. 5 times in 10 years, average once every 2 years. It sucks as much as it sounds like.
