I have quit a total of 14 times. I come back for 3 month stints and then quit for like another 4. My longest break was 1.5 years. I usually ended up playing again once another expansion came out, or I got bored of every other game I was playing. Came back recently because of the 7 day offer for expired accounts, my time ends Friday, and that will be my 15th time quitting.

I haven't kept track of how often I've quit. I can't say I've honestly ever "quit" but I'm no addict. Although I used to be. At the moment, I only play when I have time but between school, work, and actually having a social life, I rarely have time.

I've quit once, i tried it because of the free demo. but soon, it became difficult to level up, and i could barely walk anywhere new, even with staying on the path (which you're supposed to be safe from monsters on) monsters would come after me, and gang up on me, and i would DIE. if the game developers didn't make it so tedious to level up, and make the different kinds of monsters get progressively stronger so fast, then i probably would have been addicted to it. which, i guess COULD be a good or bad thing...

go Mr. T! He does have the greatest hair in the world. IT'S BEEN PROVEN BY SCIENCE FOO!

Once, almost a year free of the game, as for why, it stopped being fun. When a game stops being fun and starts to full more like work, it's time to go, and I don't look back.

I've only quit the once. It was when WofLK came out, and I had just gotten back home from being out of town for work (which I was doing a lot back then) picked up the expansion and was about to install it. I just couldn't, I logged in to say goodbye to my guildmates, and hand out all the gold I had to friends and the guildbank and haven't touched it since.

3 times, first 2 times I got bored. The most recent run was fun while it lasted, but since I work full time, I just couldn't spare 3-4 hours in a single night for at least twice a week to do all the raiding. It just started to feel like I HAVE to play, that's when the fun began to drain away.

I really enjoyed the short raids like ToC, as I only have to sit at the computer for 1-2 hours max, as well as when ICC first came out. When the new wings came out however, I was suddenly expected to do at least 2 wings in one sitting, and attend a raid on a second night to do the following wings. I just like to be able to stop playing a game whenever I want, WoW is not one of those games, so back to the PS3 I went!

Wow. This game sounds amazing. I never realized that it was this good till I found out that it is the best thing since Black Tar Heroin. Don't peer presure me or I might never quit the stuff.

You all need an intervention. The same Intervention that is in MW2? Heyoh? (Best I got.)

I quit once, had 2 accounts, one with 80 spriest other with shaman. The one with the priest got hacked and I just did not enjoy playing shaman so when the account with the 80 shaman ran out i just never put more time on it.

Played it casually since it first came out, but was never 'WoW addicted'. I quit shortly after WotLK came out, purely cus it was 100% horseshit. Never looked back since. Plus, most of my friends quit as well. NO point other than that really.

Once, because we had pretty much cleared ulduar... and the next content patch was months off.
So I had nothing to do.

btw, my dp is a screenshot of my 1st char XD

I have quit four times.

Started in 06, got bored in 6 months, started again in the 07 holidays, got bored after a month, didn't play until early 08, quit after a month, then played it last at the end of 09.

Most of the later bursts of playing WoW were from friends also playing it. Then I realised it's the same tedious shit. Also the community can be very annoying and critical. But I loved waking up, getting some fast food and playing Wow.. That was hell cool for some reason.

Once, during the beta before it even launched, because I was bored. Even then it was well done and polished, but it was kind of uninspiring, considering I used to run a MUD back in the day and was used to being able to write new code and add new features whenever I thought of something interesting while playing. That, and they didn't really do anything new that we (or dozens of other MUDs) hadn't already done or thought of before, aside from having pretty pictures.

I know, I know, Blizzard's job for the past decade and a half has pretty much been to take other people's ideas and polish the hell out of them, and they're good at that, but I probably won't be satisfied with any MMO until it does something completely new that I've never even thought of or that I dismissed as impossible, while also managing to be fun at the same time. I've considered that I may be a bit picky or have unrealistic expectations. Heh.

I always have 2 reasons:

A)Can't pay monthly fee. I have the worst habbit of getting jobs at places just before they get shut down. It's unf**king believable.

B)I get bored & take a half-year or full year break in which I play other MMOs I'm taking a break from & non MMO games.

I have played and quit 3 times since the beginning mainly due to school...that and the fact that I was spending more time online in WoW than with actual people...sad I know.
