How much coffee do you drink a day?

I'll probably start eventually, but I figure that I shouldn't develop a stimulant dependency until absolutely necessary.
Besides, the smell and taste put me off. I find it hard to believe that once upon a time someone got a whiff of that acrid scent and thought, "Mmm, I should totally put that in my water."

I've always got a cup of coffee on the go. I make it with 80/20 boiling/cold water, and drink it while it's hot. I probably spend an hour or more a day in front of the kettle.
I don't know how many cups that comes to, but I go through more than one large pot of instant a week.

6-8 cups to wake up in the morning, 1 with my lunch at noon, 4 cups when I get home. Some tell me I have a serious coffee problem. I guess I do since I am down to my last bag of coffee beans.
I drink mostly espresso made with an Arabic blend. If I had the money or it I would drink mostly Costa Rica blend with an occasional Americano. I do liven it up with a few quality blends when I want something new and interesting. I guess I am a coffee enthusiast.

One medium cup in the morning, caramel flavored. Then on the weekends I usually don't have any in the morning, but I'll often get a frozen coffee drink in the evening just for something yummy. I try to limit my intake so I don't built up a high resistance to it. I don't want to end up like a manager at my last job. He had to get two large lattes with three extra espresso shots each just to wake up.
Very wise of you. I can wake up without coffee, but I get severe headaches whenever I go without it for too long. If I don't drink a cup within the first 2 hours before I go to bed and I sleep in I will wake up with a headache I need 6 espressos to cure. Caffeine is only slightly addicting, but once you're addicted you can end up like me.daftalchemist said:

Bump it up to 0.2 if you count other coffee products, like those creamy cold coffee drinks or coffee ice cream (I like it mixed with butter peacan and Heath), et cetera.
