How much do the Reapers hate Shepard now?

I guess there'll be different ways of killing them based on Paragon and Renegade. The Paragon option could be defeating them with a logical fallacy or something, like convincing them that they're alive and must therefore self-terminate.

I dunno, it would probably be pretty hilarious watching a hundred million squid-like space ships just pause for thought then suddenly decide to explode.

As a hidden ending yeah but preparing and waiting and choosing and sacrificing just to confse them waste of three games

Seriously though, it is gonna be hard for them to write a satisfying ending that actually makes sense. But given the past few games, if anyone can do it I guess it would have to be them.

He isn't. More likely, he's just going to find some way of shutting off the Reaper threat permanently, by somehow preventing the vast fleet from entering the galaxy.

At least, I bloody well hope so, because it's been made quite clear that there's no feasible way of destroying them all without resorting to some hideous bastard deus ex machina solution worthy only of Doctor Who.

I'm not sure that would be so bad. After all, the ludicrously far-fetched Deus Ex Machina solutions that The Doctor pulls right out of his arse to save the day when all seems lost are the most entertaining part of Doctor Who.

By know means quote me on this as I know no more than anyone else for sure, but if I had to guess I'd say the Reapers that attack earth will only be a first wave, with more on the way once they've managed to secure key targets. That way, Shepard won't necessarily have to defeat ALL the Reapers, just some of them and then find a way to keep the rest in dark space permanently.

Shepard has, to all intents and purposes, broken into the Reapers' freaking WOMB (ie the Collector base) and aborted their baby. That would piss anyone off. No wonder Harbinger PMS'd at Shepard until he legged it off the place. But yeah, I like the sound of the possibilities here. It's just that that last image in the game - seriously, go look at it again - with all the Reapers, thousands of them, approaching the galaxy. It gets stuck in your mind and you go "How the hell are we going to do this?" It took Shep one game to finish off ONE of the buggers, and that was the eager bloke who rushed right in and completely failed to listen to any of his mates. No doubt about it, it's gonna be a hard one.

Shepard is forced to flee the planet in order to gather support from alien civilizations and mount a counter-attack while also having to deal with Cerberus, who have decided to turn against him/her.

I still don't get how a counter-attack can work. Even if he gets the armies of all races, Harbinger (or was it Sovereign?) said, and I quote: "our numbers will darken the sky of every world". Considering how much of a problem they had against just Sovereign during the Battle of the Citadel, I'm very much doubting the effectiveness of any counter-attack they could possibly launch.

they created that gun based off sovereigns main gun, the Thanix i think it was called?
anyway, it destroyed that collector ship in 2 shots, so if that weaponry is mass-produced, between entire fleets, it adds an element of hope...but there must be other ways to kill a reaper too! So have Faith, and lets kick some Reaper ASS!!!!!

The weapon is mass-produced. By Turian fleets, specifically.

Yeah, but Sovereign was a Reaper Vanguard, that is he was the powerful ************ left behind to assure that the plan doesn´t fail, so the actual Reapers are probably less powerful than the big bugger. And it was a surprise attack. We get a whole game to prepare a counter-attack. The Reapers are the ones that are getting fucked (if you do things right)

I have a nasty feeling the Reaper threat will be eliminated the same way the giant bugs in Red Faction Armageddon were eliminated. I seriously hope Bioware comes up with something better though.

I suspect that the Dark Matter/star-killing references in Mass Effect 2 will be significant. I received references to Dark Matter from at least two, unrelated sources: The Quarians and Gianna Parasini on Ilium. That seemed to be Bioware's way of making sure that I knew that this was important, but it didn't really matter in ME2, except for your shields overheating on Haestrom.

SOMEBODY certainly seemed to be toying with utilizing Dark Matter to destroy stars. Instead of a Dr. Who-style Deus Ex Machima solution, we might be getting a Babylon 5/Captain Sheridan style of solution, which usually translated into "If shooting it a bunch of times with really big guns won't stop it, then causing a really big explosion right on top of it WILL...".

I wonder if the next phase of Dark Matter testing involves making a star go supernova...

Alternatively, we know that slamming a big enough planetoid into a Mass Relay will destroy the Relay, as well as the system that it's in. Simply slamming Pluto into the Solar System's Mass Relay might bring the Reaper problem to a rather abrupt conclusion, if they've concentrated their forces on and above Earth. Sucks to the human race, buts still...

Shepard will use his magic maguffin on the computer of sorcery with the help of the thief, the wizard and the knight to vanquish the Reapers to the outer realms of an alternate universe (or something).

I've never heard such absolute rubbish in my life. We all know it's going to be a space macguffin, and he'll require the help of an engineer, a biotic and a soldier.

OT: I didn't get an impression of hatred, so much as fascination. The reapers were impressed enough by Shephard's actions that they tried to make their own version of him, or at least their own human-reaper, which is about as close as they can get. That seems more like respect (or even obsession) than hatred to me.
