I tip the tax if they're good. I tip more if they're great. I don't tip if they're okay or worse.

0% and nope I don't.

I live in England and believe if your being payed for your job why should I pay you to do your job? It's like 2 wages for one job, only you don't have to pay tax on one of the wages.
Do waiters and waitresses in your country make on average 2.35 per hour? Are tips considered the primary means of income for those employees?

Consider that first-- waitresses in the United States receive on average 2.35 USD per hour as income is primarily derived from tips.

If you don't tip in America, you should be ashamed of yourself, and if the wages are similar in the UK, I'd vote you should feel similar shame.

Rarely anything, cause in Denmark they already make enough money, cause tips are already include din the bill.
So i don't really see why i should pay them anything extra for just doing their job, its not like they tip the person at the grossery store, or the gas station or anyone else anyways. People don't pay me extra either, cause why should they? i do my job and i get my paycheck.

Where I live, there is a category of jobs (such as waiters) that is, by law, paid less than other jobs, because they traditionally receive tips. Therefore, 15% is pretty normal, for them and for us.

I usually tip 15% for decent service, 20% or higher for really good service, and yes, I have left nothing but a written note on the 'tip' line before for really bad service. I also don't tip the pizza man, unless it's raining or really late.

I rarely go out and eat, and when I do, my parents pay for the whole shebang*.

*[sub]That's a really dirty slang, isn't it?[/sub]

she-bang

you may be onto something there, and I do not tip, mainly because I do not go out to eat

If I'm out with my friends, we usually put together just over the bill, and leave it at that. So yeah, a small tip.
Same, although I'm not sure if it's out of generosity or because working out the change to give people would just be time-wasting and awkward to sort out.

It's the latter with us... :D

Although I suppose there is some generosity involved...

I don't tip; here in Sweden instead of getting tips from the customers they're given something which we call "decent pay". It's a really nice idea; I'm told it exists in many other countries too, including the USA.

If they're good, you know, usually a person working in Red Lobster or nicer, i give anice tip. When they choose to be asses or just dont' cut it as a waiter at that specific establishment, I give them a heads down, tarnished penny.

If your job doesn't pay enough for you to live without being payed extra by the costumer you should join an union. If there is none, start one.

Depends on service, the meal, and my mood. Never less than 15%, sometimes 20-25%, on rare occasions even higher. If I'm really hungry when I go in, I usually tell the waitress when she comes around for the drink order, "Just to let you know in advance, your tip amount is directly related to the speed and efficiency with which my meal is brought out." That tends to work an amazingly high percentage of the time.

One time I was pretty much alone in a nice little restaurant I particularly liked (very much off-peak hours, literally one or two other customers in the place at the time) and was the only one seated in my waitress's section. Also, she was ridiculously attractive, friendly, and fun to chat with. Plus I was in a really good mood at the time. So she got a 100% tip.

Usually ten percent, but round up to the nearest pound.

If the service sucks, then nothing.

Usually tip when eating out and usually tip my hairdresser - not because they are awesome but because they let me walk in off the street for a cut when I feel like I need it and want it doing. Keeping them sweet means they always find time for me.
