How much does a game cost where you live?

It all doesn't matter though. If a person can't buy a game to play it, they can't buy to play it. Life sucks sometimes because you can't get to do all the things you want to do, that's life. Price and poverty are not valid reasons to pirate. Extra Credits gave the only valid reason, that the game doesn't exist for sale anywhere. Gaming is a privilege not a right.

I'm not debating piracy here (that's what that other thread is for!) I'm really just looking for information becuase it just came up over and over in that thread, and I think it wouldn't hurt for gamers in the big game markets (US, hint hint) to get a wider perspective of other countries when it comes to real-life costs for this hobby of ours.

Plus I like learning about other parts of the world.

I know you weren't trying to debate piracy. I just hadn't posted in that other thread yet, but my point still stands. Yes it is nice to find out what people in other countries have to pay, but it really has nothing to do with piracy because it isn't a reason to pirate.(At least that is the way you come off with wanting people to see the prices of games in other countries.)

oh sorry by "personal" i meant my salary is more relevant to the issue. than the guy who live up my street that owns the cement company that supplies to surrounding towns, rising the average of income vs my low paying job.

Sorry, I honestly am not trying to come off that way (though I suppose it's inevitable given the fact that this started as an ancillary curiosity from the Piracy thread). I'm honestly curious about how much games cost in other countries, and how much of a monthly income said average game costs. I just don't know these things, and I felt ignorant when it came up 'over there'.

3) Wii games are 50-60 depending where you buy them and who published the game, 60-70 for PS3/360 games for the same reasons. PSP/DS games are 30-50, they vary greatly. This is in CAD I don't feel like converting to USD as there is not too big of a difference.
4) Inconsistent, my hours vary greatly so I can't give you a proper estimate, but I make more than enough to get by and buy luxuries such as video games.

Don't have a 360 so don't know if the prices are high or low for sure, but looks to be the going rate apart from limited/collectors editions.

I think you gravely misunderstood the EC video, OP.

Floyd mentions third world countries like Mongolia and Azerbaijan, (was it?) to give example of countries that DON'T get real Games AT ALL As in you literally cannot buy a authentic game from those countries In ANY way. And those are just a two of many, many, MANY countries. want more names? Brazil, Bangladesh, Most African Countries, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Antarctica, The moon (jk).etc.

In those areas you have exactly 4 options. 1)Wait for relatives to come from abroad and tell them to bring you games (enjoy playing TWO games a year btw) 2)Buy local Pirated games, 3)Download your own games if you have decent broadband (which is very rare in many of those countries)
and 4) Don't have anything at all to do with the video game culture at all in any way. Because you will never be able to legally buy a game no matter how much you may want!

So, your thread is not going to get any answers from people in said regions because they won't give up a chance to get the Neo badge, by admitting to piracy on the third question.
