Yeah, there sure are a lot of them. 7 case fans, 2 CPU cooler fans, 1 PSU fan and 6 GPU fans (3 per card).

I got a 6850 on sale after Christmas. Overclocked 17% higher then stock.

All cards are wild overkill for what would actually be needed if software was made properly these days.

You mean if Direct X wasn't such an unwieldy piece of shit or developers were allowed to skip using it and program to the cards directly?

Ya that pretty much sums it up as well. But there are a few factors at work in there. Take your pick on which one ya list first.
