Hey i have a question to any biologists out there, people are always concerened when taking pain killers not to over dose, but how much would it actually take to kill a person?

A doctor friend of mine once told me it's usually 50 times the recommended dose. But that's second hand and only vaguely remembered knowledge so take it with a pinch of salt.
I would imagine it's really hard to kill yourself on pain killers you'd likely need to take hundreds of pills.
People always make me laugh when they panic about taking 4 pills instead of 2.
