Before people assume I am being ungrateful, I am not claiming they are greedy and the sale "isn't good enough"
There is also the fact that most sales tend to go up to 50%-75% so if it's less than that, it is normally a good idea to wait.
Oh please, Driver is like 7$ at 35% off and I am still waiting for it to go to 75% lol, if we have the slightest idea that it will become cheaper soon we should wait for it, money doesnt grow on trees

I know right, its like free money for people that dont care about superficial things like their Steam level.
How are you guys making money from those? The most I'm getting is $.30-.50
Yeah, they are cheap but they are also easy to earn, unless they are rare they wont pay for any big recent release. I guess I would recommend not selling the summer sale cards (the ones about vacation) right now since eventually they might become rare in like a year since people wont be able to earn them again (I expect).

Either way if you want you can just open a game that has cards and let it sit on the menu, its time based so you end up earning them.

PS: If I sold all my cards right now at the lowest price I would get around 8$, not too shabby for a system that only requires you to play games

I've spent roughly $27 dollars so far on:

Antichamber - Pretty neat, kind of like Portal sans the humour, but hardly worth the ~$6 I spent on it.
The Binding of Isaac - No idea why I bought this.
Hotline Miami - No idea why I bought this.
AI War: Fleet Command - I do like space strategy games, but from what I can see, this doesn't do anything better than Sins of a Solar Empire, which I already have. So, no idea why I bought this.
Dark? Soul?s??:? ?Prepare To?? Die?? Edition???????? - Won't play until I get around to buying a controller.

Still waiting on those 75%+ off Skyrim, Dawn of War 2, 40k Spess mehreen, Magic 2014 (fuck you, I'm thrifty) and FF7 sales, though.

$0... but its been very hard for me to resist. Most of the games I want, I already own, but other games that look interesting but weren't a must have are all tempting me. Hoping that Wargame: Airland battle goes further down as well as Dishonoured and Rogue Legacy. I also might get Nazi Zombie Army and Witcher II today. But even if I get all those things... I'm still under a reasonable budget.

Very little so far, just Ys I & II Chronicles+ for about $5.00

The only thing I really am looking to get is Rogue Legacy. It's on 20% off now but I think I can get a better deal if I'm patient.

I went to town on the indie games. I bought 10 games and counting, most of them being $2.50. I've probably spent $25 so far. FTL, scribblenauts, Lone Survivor, To the Moon, Deponia, Braid, and more. I may purchase the first or second fallout, but I haven't decided.

BioShock Infinite: $30.
Skyrim: Legendary Edition: $35.
Hotline Miami: $2.50.
To the Moon: $3.00.
BioShock 2: $5.
Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition: $7.50.
FTL: 2.50.
Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon: $6.75.
Total: $92.25.
Remaining Steam Wallet dollars: $53.40.

Yeah, selling my 360 and all my games was unquestionably worth it.

A little under $20CAD, I think. Most of the sales that catch my eye are titles I already own XD.

I'm at about $40-50 so far. I also made 18p back by selling a duplicate trading card. I have no idea what to do with it, because I the ones I need are more than that and I don't intend to pay actual money for them.

I was lucky to get about 2-3 things off my wishlist, and hope that other ones on their follow suit, though a major price reduction for Dark or Metro: Last Light seems unlikely :-(

20 bucks, borderlands season pass (finally that DLC is cheap enough to consider worth spending on, i'm getting tired of publishers/devs making DLC worth the same or more than the base game, fuckin ridiculous.)

also just got Mars War logs, haven't touched it yet as I'm going to a farewell party for a friend in a bit, but i'll probably hop on it tomorrow if i'm not too addicted to tomb raider.

I assume I have to look up via the store which games have cards? And is it "Oh, you played for 10 minutes, here's your card! Now enjoy the rest of your game." Or is it "Here's your 10 minutes card, your 20 minute card, your 30 minute card..." etc?

Its more like random minutes card, but overall they seem to come quite frequently, maybe 1 for each hour although after some time you need to earn a booster (earned just like any other card) to be able to earn more cards from that game (boosters may take more time, the higher your steam level the higher chance you have).

You can see wich games you own use cards by going to your medals page (I think).

$0, I missed the flash sale for the only game I wanted. Will it ever get that low again, or will I have to wait for next year? Also, how do I change the Store so it displays NZ currency instead of US? It makes those deals very misleading.

Nothing because Steam deserves to die a slow and painfull death since what it did to Valve.

I've bought Surgeon Simulator 2013, Sonic Adventure 2, Thomas was Alone, Hotline Miami and FEZ.
Problems:
SA2 runs really slowly for some odd reason
FEZ is literally unplayable on my graphics card. Let's see if that "one time refund" is legit.

I was really tempted into buying GTA4, but I knew I wouldn't be able to run it. I'd only get it for the mods anyway.
Also, I'm waiting for Terraria to go down a little more. Might even get the first Portal if it gets cheap enough.

£1.49. I just bought Thomas Was Alone so far. I'm hoping to pick up Bioshock Infinite, Far Cry 3, The Sweeper, the two Metros and Mirror's Edge, but in most cases you can already get them cheaper on Amazon than they're ever going to get on Steam, so I haven't been convinced yet.
