How often do you change your avatar?

I've had three. First one was a 8 bit ole time-y bomb, second was Solid Snake as the KFC colonel (Everyone so often I spot the bloke that's using it right now and have a deja-vu moment 
) and now, of course the Origami Dog from Heavy Rain.
It came about because I attempted to do an origami figure of it, but it was in Japanese. So, after numerous failed attempts, I gave up and changed it to this. (It's also my PSN avatar)
I keep it because of recognizability (Though, I doubt it's that recognizable) and cos origami dogs are the shit.

I don't like the way I look so I never use pictures of myself.

I haven't changed mine since I got this one when I started here. Up until last week, I hadn't changed my Steam avatar for a year and a half.
