How often do you decide not to post to avoid CAPTCHA?

Never, honestly, it has never deterred me from posting.
I may have a lot of self-confidence issues, but i'm pretty sure i can jump over the hurdle that is 'Captchas'
Fairly easy thing to do.

Also, if you get PubClub they no longer affect you.

I have never avoided posting due to captcha though, i will not post if i feel my opinion or input will not contribute in anyway. Captcha has never bugged me unless its during registration, i always get it wrong in that situation.

Also, many CAPTCHAS require the refresh button because they are unreadable and of the ones that are readable, it's certainly much harder to read them than reading a sentence, that is the point of CAPTCHA though isn't it? Why create a thread if you're only extracting from the people who agree with you? 'Right... whatever you say' comes off as 'in one ear, out the other'. That is the point of a forum right? Getting different viewpoints of a single topic or opinion?

I've only come across a small handful of captchas that were unreadable. In all cases, I hit the refresh button and get presented with something that is fairly easy to read or interpret. Compared to some of the other captcha systems out there, this one is one of the better ones. I have never spent longer than a few seconds inputing a captcha on this site.

In the past, I have been given captchas on other sites that would take me a good few minutes to properly decipher. And I'd do them because they were usually things I'd want, like a purchase or account creation.

I really don't understand why this is such a big deal to some people. Isn't the internet convenient enough?

Same here. Although I think there should be a threshold to cross where they stop appearing as frequently (maybe 1000 but they wouldn't tell you when); it wasn't that big of an inconvenience.

Pubclub is worth it for me because I enjoy custom titles and ad free content but the best part is giving back to the site I love.

Only problem I have is that I have google scripts blocked with noscript, so if there ever is a capcha than I won't know until I hit "post" and get an error. Than I have to CTRL+C my post, temp allow google, refresh, input capcha and re-block said scripts untill next time. LOL!

It's a big deal because it is unnecessary. The mods here are more than capable of dealing with spammers but instead they use CAPTCHA so they can spend more time issuing warnings for low content posts. You were not a spammer yesterday, you aren't today and the chances of you becoming one tomorrow are slim to none. Therefore, testing you every 20 posts is not necessary.

I agree with that point about continuous testing. But I understand why mods want to have it in place to prevent low content posts. Even with this system in place, I still see one word responses or a sentence consisting of maybe 3 or 4 words. It does come off as rather spammy.

My argument was about doing the captcha itself. It really isn't a big deal.
