this is normally the time of year that I impulse buy (you know the summer games drought) but with the amount of games out in November I'm saving every penny I got!

I do it a lot, actually. I hear good things about the game, and then buy it to try it out and see how it is. Sometimes it's been a good thing, like when I bought AC1 over Fallout New Vegas, and now AC is my new favorite game series.

But it's also been bad, like when I bought Fallout 3 because everyone said it was such a good game, and I found that I just can't get into it =/

VERY rarely now a days. I just don't have the kind of income that lets me use money on bad games anymore. I have to be sure I'm buying a good amount of a good quality of fun.

Very rarely, but it have happened on occasion. I buy most my games over Amazon, so there's not really any "impulse buying" possibility.

ALL THE FUCKING TIME.... lately. Bastion? Impulse bought, was very glad I did. SPAZ? Impulse, slightly less glad than Bastion. Cthulhu Saves The World? Impulse'd. Semi-happy with.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Almost all the time, damn steam sales, they excel at separating me from my money.

My latest impulse buy was section 8 when it was on sale, its pretty good but not enough players and having map packs for it was stupid since it makes it harder to find a nice full server.

I sometimes cave in and buy games that I know I already want even though I have many other games I need to finish first. But I'm getting better.

With a slight discount on a newer game? Never. An old game I've never heard of that looks pretty fun and costs $10 or less? Every.damn.time.

thanks to steam, I impulse buy WAY more often than I should. It's right here at my house so it's easier than going to gamestop

Never. Even after I've done extensive research on a game I sometimes have my doubts :p

That's like not buying pepsi because you already have coke and you can't justify more fizziness in your life (or buying pepsi, ever). It's perfectly fair.

As for me... Never. Steam sales mean I sometimes buy games based on...
Hmm. I can't finish that sentence without describing impulse buying.
OK, never apart from steam sales, if it's a game I've heard good things about previously.

All the time during my days at uni I often go down to a store called CEX which sells games at really low prices the PS2 games can vary from £15 to 50 pence. I often go down to the store, head for the PS2 section and just buy random cheap games, I've gotten some really bad ones and some really good ones.

Also I bought Pokemon Black on an impulse, a decision I will never regret.

I never buy on impulse. If I want a game, I save up for it in advance. And I usually only get games that I really want. Anything I'm interested in playing I rent first before considering buying

Terraria(Steam), Bastion(Steam), The Witcher(Steam), Evil Genius(GOG) within the last 30 days.

I was usually ok with a $20 limit for impulse buying when I was at a store but Digital Distribution has made my -ok for impulse purchase- switch flip a little too often...

Steam sales.

Getting to a store with a decent lineup requires planning, free time (which I don't have) etc, while I can get stuff from steam in my room.

I think I bought 3 games over the summer sale.

A Year ago I got bioshock and borderlands very cheap off a site...and added killzone2(cheaper price than platinum) impulsively
because then i was over the price-limit for shipping to be free (and somewhat liked killzone1 back then)
-so 2,5euro safed...but 17 flushed- cause i never even played it (a friend played it once though...there i decided it just really doesn't interest me at all)

long time ago on PS1 it was "Star Ocean"...tried it only once after years of having it because a friend just wanted to see the only game i never played in my PS1-library
(became sort of a lame running joke with him when we were bored: "mmm soo..wanna play star ocean?")

aand gran turismo 2 platinum...although i wasn't that interested to begin with because i had played enough of the 1st one to make it boring for me....aand i was right - only played it once

that is all though

Punch Time Explosion was the first impulse buy in a while. It's my first 3DS game and it was the last one in the store. I felt proud of myself in a way, kinda like in Yahtzee's review of Epic Yarn how he mentioned that every time he gets a game aimed at children that's one more child who doesn't get the game.

Anyway, got it because it was $30. $40 everywhere else so I figured what the hell. It's tougher than I thought it would have been and I dislike how battle mode doesn't have teams whereas single-player does. I do however, like how there are actual boss fights. Challenging ones! Kinda sucks that you have to unlock your characters twice but, it lengthened the gameplay.

To answer the question though: not very often. I consider myself poor so I try to not spend my money too often.
