Hey guys, I have been trying to get into habits where I work out 3 times a week recently, but for a guy who has no interest in physical fitness whatsoever it's really hard... What about you?

I work out each day, albeit the workout is only about 5½ min. Then I run frequently and sometimes use dumbells.

3-4 days a week. 40 minutes on a recumbent bike surfing the internet on my phone followed by a different weight routine that depends on the day. The hard part is working up the motivation to go the first time. Once you do, you'll see it's not so bad, and you'll feel great afterwards, and then it becomes much easier.

i lift crates of beverages and beerkegs every day. I walk about 6-8 kilometres a day and i dont even wanna count the stairs i have to climb in university.
But apart from that i used to have Handball training once or twice a week. I liked it but i dont have the time any more. I am still looking for something more flexible in sense of time. problem with the usual boring fitness training is, there is no team kicking your butt if you dont do your best and its well, boring. And you can't win. Where is the sense in a activity without direct competition and hard body contact?

I do the yuppie workout; MWF, after work, half an hour on some cardio machine or another, then half an hour on weight machines. This equals a full hour of checking out fit women at the gym.

I got to the gym five or six times a week usually, for about 2 hours. once you get into the routine it just becomes part of your day. although I've felt pretty shitty this week so iv'e only been a couple of times.

If you can find someone to go with then it will really help, you'll be more likely to go and when you do, having another person there helps you push yourself further.

Never. I literally don 't exercise. Unless walking around uni and dancing like a psycho in clubs counts

I'm in the Army, we PT in the morning with a usual 3-4 mile run, pull ups, push ups and some abs. Then after work I go to the gym for about an hour or more and do a real work out.

My life consists of reading books and being on the internet. There is no exercise, and yet I'm relatively skinny. Strange.

I work out on an Elliptical for 30 minutes a day, but I tend to go off distance and try to do 8-9km (about 5 miles) in each session. I WAS doing it 6-7 days a week (with weight training on every alternate day), but have had to cut it back to 5 days a week due to university commitments.
I also walk the digs for an hour and a half on a Tuesay, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday (they go to a creche for the other days).

At first, it was a conscious effort to do it, but now it's becoming as routine as brushing my teeth. I actually look forward to working out (at around 10am, because my eating habits dictate that I eat every 3 hours and I can't exercise properly before breakfast, so I have to let it digest) and feel...not guilty, but weird if I miss a session.

They say it takes 21 days to make a habit, so why not try to do a little every day for 3 weeks (even if it's only for 10 minutes) and cut back once it sticks? Once it's ingrained in your routine, you won't need to find motivation, you'll just have it!

Good luck, OP. It's great that you've decided to take the first step to a healthier you! I would advise finding an exercise you enjoy so you don't look at it as a "workout", but as fun, just like gaming. Maybe try a sport like squash or something? Once I get a bit fitter, I'm going to take up running (properly, like outside and stuff) and a sport, maybe kick boxing or squash or something, depends if I fancy giving it a try or not. And it's ALWAYS better/more fun with an exercise partner.

Almost every day, though it's usually a fairly short work out. I walk every day and cycle regularly as well, but I don't really count them as working out as it's something I do anyway.

I do Insanity at home for about an hour or so, 5 days a week. It REALLY helps having a buddy. Without a friend I always think, I'll do it later...later..later...then end up skipping a day. I got into insanity with one friend, and when he dropped off I luckily found somebody else that wanted in. Just having somebody else helps for a couple reasons. It makes you actually schedule time for working out, my desire to NOT bail on somebody else is significantly stronger than my own personal desire to stay in shape, and mostly, shit's a lot more fun when you do it with a friend.

I have a badminton night and a football night every week. The rest of the time I fill in the gaps with running, I get quite restless if I don't.

Even making yourself do a little bit every day or so is a good enough start.

I do two tougher, higher level workouts per week. Usually I get in 3 more smaller ones, and if I am lucky some running (though it's hard with the weather here, everything's iced over so running isn't the safest thing).

Do enough to where you don't feel sore every waking moment but can at least feel a little bit of the burn after a good workout. That's what I do at least.

I usually go swimming 3 times a week, an hour or so each time. I find it very enjoyable and it makes me feel fit and healthy. If your not a fan of stressful sports then swimming is great because it puts no stress on the joints at all.

I starve and take walks.
Actually if I lived in a city with a better gym i.e. something that actually is a gym..
I'd go there as often as I could.

So to actually answer you;
I just take 40-50min walks. I try to walk this everyday.
Don't starve yourself!

OT: If you just want to drop weight, just eat better, cut back on snacking, drink water.

If you're skinny/slim/whatever, and want to build muscle, then just try doing something simple, and reminding yourself that the feeling you get right after is how you want to always feel.

I do a few crunches, push-ups and dips a day, only for 5-15 minutes, but if you eat properly too you'll see a difference. Gonna start swimming soon too.
