I live in the UK and I'm always getting stinged by the release dates of the hot new games. It seems to me that most games are released in the U.S around a month before they are in the U.K. There is one game that I'm really looking foward to, (BlazBlue) but it hasn't even got a release date scheduled yet. I just wondered if anyone else feels my pain.

Depending on the console, most games are region free how about importing them?

If you import them you need to pay high postage and like a 25% import tax to the value of the game and it takes quite a while to send stuff from USA so its not really worth it.

It was the same with consoles, the PS3 came out in Asia, then America then Europe, Europe always seem to be last :(

You probably end up paying for more.
Well true unless you know someone from there, I have a few friends over there so makes live a little easier for me.

Thats actually wrong, the US get most games a few days before not a month. If anything Japan are the lucky ones because they get games way before the rest of us.

one explanation sort of hops to mind for me, though it is a pretty flimsy one. I see it as alot of game and gaming componies being based in the US and Japan (I realise that there are developers based in Europe and the companies probably have offices there, but just roll with me a bit...), so they get the games first. Games out of japan take forever to hit the US and the reason is usually translations, both subbs and the dubb, which adds a bit to release time. as for Europe (keeping it as a generalised reagon does have a purpose i promiss), there are alot of different laguages in a reletivly small area, and so while waiting for the games to be translated into all those different languages, the companies hold off on releasing in Britton and the UK to avoid A) more realease dates and B) logistic issues. It all kinda boils down to saving money and time i guess....

As i said, this is flimsy reasoning, but its all i could come up with... feel free to think up something else, but dont go abusing me over anything i said ._.
