I was left shratching my head when my ps3 died for the seventh time. My ps2 is about 7 years old and it's still going strong. I've never experienced any problems with it, and I played for 4-7 hours a day on that thing. I nearly played 4 hours a day on my ps3 and it didn't even last a year, after being repared 7 times.
Sony of course says it's my fault. They probably think I'm some retard that grills steaks with that thing.
Then there's the XBOX 360. I guess it doesn't really needs an introduction, who doesn't know about the RROD.
Wii's have hardware issues to but I believe they're much less prominent.
This gen's consoles measure up pretty poorly compared to old ones like the SNES, ps2 or even the Atari 2600.
What could be the issue? Is the market oversatured and are consoles therefore being pushed out of the door like crazy? Did Sony and Microsoft leap to far with their HD-consoles so they can't make quality consoles affordable anymore?
Also, what could we do about it? Complain? Stop buying crappy hardware? Genocide?
