Well that's just, like, your opinion, man.
Yup. And what you propose will destroy all the fun about sex for me. Hence I oppose your ideas. It's as simple as that.

Your ideas will make sex no more interesting or special than scratching ones arse. Who'd want sex to turn into something like that?

I don't like the way witcher did it it portrayed us women like some sort of squicky pokemon game that put me off playign those games forever, but thats just my opinion.
What's wrong with that? Both men and women do tend to treat their sexual conquests as some kind of ongoing "collection" of sorts as it is.

Of course, few will actually admit to doing i, but that only goes to show how much people indulge in self-deception...

That's a pretty awful way to think about people in my opinion. I certainly don't do that. Eevryone is different though. The card thing in witcher made me feel uncomfortable so I stopped playing those games I'm not tellign anyone else to.

Then again reading your other posts I suspect your a troll so blegh.

That doesn't change the fact that it plays on an already unequal relationship.

A woman who 'collects' men like that is going to get called all kinds of nasty names. She's extremely unlikely to be celebrated for it.

The Witcher's approach made me extremely fucking uncomfortable.

Wow... That coming from the person who criticize others for having an "awful" view of other people. Seems to me that you're pretty shallow too... Just like everyone else...

Sex shouldn't be in games to begin with.

It's an embarrassment to society that needs to be corrected.
Sex itself or sex in video games/media?
Both I guess. :\
Why not just ban sex in real life too? Then we wouldn't have to worry about it at all! :p

Just like it is shown in the most mainstream movies. They show something that gives us the idea of what they are doing, but not the actual intercource (?).

I dunno, some Bioware games the love scene was terribad (I'm looking at you, Origins!), but some are pretty tasteful. The Mass Effect 1 ones were really artsy, and Dragon Age 2 did a WAAAAY better job with it then most of their games, I think. The Merill one (post-coitus) was pretty cute, with Hawke rubbing her arm.

There is no real way to have a real time romance build in a game where you choose your dialog though. You'll run out of options eventually, until they make a game where you can actually type your text in, but even then, people could exploit it to get max relationships really quickly. So I think the way Bioware handles it is best.

And men who do the same thing NEVER get called nasty names buy ANYONE?

It's funn7y how women are always victimized in social conflicts, but when men get shit thrown their way no one really cares or pretty much just expects them to "suck it up".

Here's a lesson on the world for you: All your actions will have consequences, and some will not sit well with others. THat goes for both men and women in equal measure. So one can either deal with it, or sit around crying about details...

I dunno, i'd certainly be open to the idea. Less sexual taboo would decrease the volume of people using it for marketing and to attract attention. Not to mention less harrassment and other bad things.
I doubt it. Marketing companies would jump at using sex in commercials if the taboo just got taken away magically.

It's like what Bill Hicks said: If they were allowed to by law, the Coca-Cola company would pretty much have a tv-commercial featuring nothing but a beautiful, fully naked woman with her legs spread and only a message saying "Drink Coke!"

But, thanks to sexually repressive norms and social standards shaping the laws of what you can broadcast on tv publicly, we're spared the anti-intellectual and disgusting marketing stunts featuring full on porn in the cynical pursuit of making money.

Removing taboo won't decrease exploitation of sex for commercial purposes, it will only increase it to the point where we all become desensitized and bored by it.

Quick time events on the level of the God of War minotaur fights. Your character and yourself would be out of breath from the exertion.

How about just remove them entirely? They are distracting and generally add absolutely nothing to the game itself. not to mention that the complete lack of facial expression is strangely unsettling in my opinion.

i liked the way dragon age 2 handled it; much better than origins did. i like stories, and a good romance always improves a story. i just wish there was more contact between the would-be lovers. it's unrealistic when characters begin to wax lyrical about their feelings while standing motionless in front of each other. lets have some hand holding or a few more passionate kisses!

Only according to guys who for some reason can't fuck a lot but wish they could. Plenty of so called "players" do get their fair share of resentment from women however, and also from men of superior moral fibre as well as men who are jealous and turns their envy into resentment instead.

The thing is, men rarely get to enjoy the benefits of the "victim card", since that is an all female territory most of the time...

To be honest, if it wasn't going to be either complained about or purile it frankly should be something that happens as part of the plot - regardless of how you play the game.

Games with successful sex-scenes like Final Fantasy X (Mostly implied) and older games like Nomad Soul (Woman on top, viewed from the middle distance as part of a cut-scene early in the game) should have it natural. It shouldn't be a gimic or a 'reward'.

Just three words...
Hot coffe mod =)

That's how you do it. Except the human interaction (wiggling the stick) because it's pointless.

Honestly, if a sex scene will improve the game then like most gameplay, buttons should correspond to actions, with something to indicate that your partner is satisfied or if you failed. however, if the sex is unnecessary it should just have a tasteful cut to black so we can carry on the story.

also, just saying, but the "showing you have failed" part should in now way resemble how modern warefare shows you are failing.
