What if you believe that Obama wasn't born in America? You just got that question wrong because the answer is what the creator believes. Real IQ tests don't test you on what you remember, they test you on your ability to use what you know.

I got 17 first because I was very much stressed by the short time that you had to answer each question. Taking it again I got 25. But this is hardly an accurate test of intelligence. Throwing random facts from totally different subjects doesn't properly test a persons intelligence, especially when each question is timed. I mean, how does me not knowing who sang the song "The Black Parade" (each band who was an option I don't listen to) or what which company manufactures "The Evolution" make me stupider. Hell even the question as to when Elvis died, who the president during the end of WW2 was, or what's the elemental symbol for lead is doesn't really test intelligence, it just tests how good your random trivia knowledge is. True intelligence tests measure how well you can take information given to you and solve a problem with it.

I got a 24. That said, I don't like the test. Too much pop culture: Elvis? Beer?

Questions like those don't really measure intelligence.

Is says I'm stupid, but I button mashed half the questions. That took longer that it really shoudl've for something like that.

And sorry if I don't know who sang that song, but that's not really smarts so much as just how much you know.
That is "smarts." Smart is how much you know. Intelligence is how easy it is for you to figure things out and learn. Wisdom is the application of intelligence to "smarts."

I got 25 BUT:

Any test that asks you to name a song from Fall Out Boy or My Chemical Romance should DEDUCT points if you get it right. Trivial knowledge has never and never will be a measure of actual intelligence. It's also biased in it's American history and American culture questions. Clearly this test favours Americans. Lastly, other than crack heads or people that live in Ghettos I doubt many people know the actual scientific names of various drugs quite simply because we shouldn't need to.

Fail test fails.

But I have a pretty pitiable education. Dropped out at the start of secondary.
I wouldn't say I'm proud of myself but that is definitely better than I would have expected, all things considered.

I scored 24, and it just makes me feel as though I'm a little too in-the-know as it concerns pop culture .__.

24... but that was ridiculous. Car commercial slogans? Popular music song titles? Seriously?
Oh, and a warning to anyone not from the US: this is yet another one biased against you.
Really it is? Because Mitsubishi is of course a US company, and world war II was fought completely inside the US by US troops only right?

The test is far less biased then you are implying. I can think of only two questions that where biased towards people in the US and these deal with wildly popular icons. There where many more questions that would be far easier if you lived outside the US.

For both of you:

Probably because it wasn't and IQ test. It was a test of how smart you are. Two very different things.

Haha, I may take that later but for now it's too much random trivia bullshit that I neither know about nor care for. :p

I only got a 16 >.>. Though most of those questions were totally irrelevant to what should appear on a test like this. Questions like "Where is ______ alcohol made?" are not good questions since people who don't partake in alcohol probably would never know that. Also, how should I know what "The Evolution" is? I feel like someone who watches TV all day could easily be declared "smart" by this. All this really does is test how good you are at knowing random tidbits of information.

27 but this is a bad test of intelligence. Only a few can be worked through without prior knowledge (problem solving > information retention) and there isn't enough time to do so.

This is a terrible intelligence test. It's made up entirely of 'K' questions. K questions are not the questions to be asked when determining intelligence, they are used to determine knowledge. I have no idea who sang that song or when Elvis died!

But then again it seems I am preaching to the choir. Every other post has a rant like this. Grats guys!

or, y'know... cops of every stripe, pharmacists, health educators, addiction center employees... can't help 'em if ya don't know anything about 'em. I don't know about you, but I learned a LOT about the science of recreational drugs from classes in public school. It's really not that far-fetched on a general knowledge quiz (it's definitely more relevant to an average person from say... Holland... than the distance between cities in the US)... but this isn't really presented as a general knowledge quiz so much as an IQ test... until it asks a question.

I'm in a 'smart' class in my school, I get good test results so I'd think I'm smart. Also those questions really don't reflect how smart you are. Well some of them anyway...
