ive not played the sequel yet but i think i will be dissapointed. the story was good but it was too short, upon completion (and obtaining black lightsaber) i felt like there was nothing else to do.

my idea is simple why not have a survival mode, endless streams of baddies and you keep going til you die. i know your thinking thats too simple but it works just look at W@W zombies, GoW horde etc etc. i think it would work in the starwars universe

The problem I see is how do you make things a challenge when you have a stupendously overpowered main character.

The problem seems to be in the original concept, the idea is awesome and it is fun, however variety is where it becomes difficult.

Take a look at the first games. The boss fights were bland and all ended the same way, the quick time events were the worst parts of the game, trying to make enemies tougher just got annoying (force shields? yeah right...) and as much fun as the game was it had no longevity.

Maybe scrap the character, get a new one, stick him in the old republic and get some decent designers on it.

All the time keeping George Lucas as far away as possible.

How could they improve them? They could stop making crappy games and throwing the star wars name and a lightsaber in it so it will sell to fanboys.

personally i like both of the games, i dont expect the most greatezt games evarrr from them so i do enjoy them, however i think there could be different approaches to a similar yet different timelined game with more freeflow combat (a hybrid of force unleashed and jedi academy like combat) where the game would be epic in the old republic.

however i doubt that game would be made anytime soon.

Uncap the framrates from 30 and fix the insane amount of screen tearing (a.k.a. put in some VSync)

Not be a cash in..... force powers that we havent seen before or that are only in books not movies...... interesting story.... characters that arent there for fan boys to be ZOMG HES THERE *creams pants*. A third lightsaber as a third arm a better looking protagonist.

Improve the game eh? Swap out original hero with some random bounty hunter not in the canon... let's call him Kyle just as a place holder. Hero starts with little to zero force powers, but learns them across the game as enemies become tougher, and he eventually masters lightsaber fighting. I think that would help.

I am enjoying 1, still haven't beat it. But I think if they pulled away from QTE to destroy the bad guys and instead just improved the "combo" section of the skill tree to "techniques" instead.
Maybe I am just too hooked on RPGs but I would like charactor development to be really fine tuned. And get rid of the damned holocrons. I hate this type of aspect in adventure games. Personally, I look up where they are so I can just keep going and grab them as I go past them. If I wanted to run around and look for stuff I would buy a game centered around that.

Instead of spending time hiding power ups and holocrons, spend time with the level system and perhaps add a thing or two where the player can be a little bit more involved in the story. I ain't asking for Mass Effect here by any stretch but give us some options in either dialogue or through gameplay.
The story in the game so far I don't find that bad.

One other idea I had the other day was this:
(I play on PS3 so the moves below are based on that.)

Rather than have you unlock [],[],O have like R1 be the "technique" button. After unlocking a technique, you could use this and it would go into a cinematic. For instance you unlock one called "Force Piledriver" which is Hold L1 (all techniques would require this) X,O,^,O and the game would go to a "cutscene" (really just cool camera angles) where your charactor jumps into the air, uses the force to thrust himself extremely high then pulls the enemy up to him, fries him, then force pushes him back to the ground rapidly. This would work like in a fighting game as distance to the enemy would have a range. Then you would go back to regular style. I think it would also be good to add a 3rd technique bar. (I personally just really dislike QTEs)

But ultimatley I don't find much wrong with the series. It is just a run of the mill adventure game set in the star wars universe with a semi-decent story. What I would be doing if I really went into it is building another game from the ground up. So, this is about all I got.

No we really don't need Kyle Katarn. What we do need are multiple fighting styles and more freedom with respect to how we can use various powers. The game needs to be set well after the original trilogy as well. One of the worst things about Force Unleashed is that it was set just before the rebellion started which meant that Starkiller simply couldn't kill the Emperor or Vader, and he pretty much has to die. The premise of the second game is just so stupid that it does not even deserve mentioning as a means to escape that problem.

Go ahead and have the galaxy teeming with Sith and Jedi to make sure the combat remains tough. The enemies in this game were generally better though, those Grievous lookalikes were a real pain in the butt.

A way to improve it would be to go with one of the dropped stories. They picked the absolute worst one, setting it right between the trilogies.

One of the other game pitches would have been to have the setting 200 years after Return of the Jedi, thereby not interrupting Canon in the least.

A game that wasn't the worst PC port in the history of man?
I thought we were talking about TFU, not Saints Row 2.

Just kidding, yeah, the port was horrendous.
