Yeah, i remember the first time i went to a D&D game, i got in since i insisted my brother taking me with him.

But the group I've played with for the last 4 years or so seems to be braking up. At the best times we had over 12 people wanting to game. Now, there are still players, but the good DM that we had (i have to say, every story he made was very good) went to became a policeman, and now, he doesn't have the time to make. And also, several good players, like my brother ,can't play often since they are away at collage. Tough most want to play again, they just can't get together anymore. Kinda sad seeing everyone going away... The only DM we have left ... well, I think his stories are stupid. And i haven't gone to his games for the last 3 or 4 times. Looks like i won't be playing D&D much more. Quite sad. D&D is one of the most fun things I've ever done, so many laughs, so many memories...

Shame I doubt it'd be able to find anything like that in London.

There is like 3 shops that sell RP stuff in the whole of London. -Facepalm- THREE, in the most populated city in Europe.

I tried to get my friends together to play Dark Heresy, but they are pretty busy, plus I'm sure it'd fail at making up a lot. (I would much prefer experience as a player first.)

Annoyingly, if I did find some stuff, I'm only 15, plus I don't know any D&D rules.

I was very lucky when I first started gaming, I have a good few friends who game on a weekly basis(in fact most of my friends are gamers) &I expressed an intrests in wanting to RP with them, so when my friend Brian asked me if I wanted to join a new game he was starting up I jumped at the chance to join them // That was 2006, nowadays I game three times a weeks with three different groups of friends, althou there us some cross over, & I love each&every night of it

I think the most important that I get out of these are the chances to create character&take them somewhere&if it wasn't for the people I game with I would not be able to do this

I miss playing tabletop.

It's hard to find a decent group (or even a crap group for that matter) out in the countryside of Norway.
Damn shame, I used to enjoy new World of Darkness a whole damn lot!

There is only one in my town.( Yes, since I am an American, I can compare my small, xenophobic town to London!) But, I can't go to it of course. My mother would kill me before I ever RPed.

Still 3. xD Gamestation is like the UK Gamestop. Still, those shops only sell supplies, annoyingly. Wish I could get a group together.

Also, your mother one of those people who thinks D&D is the devils work, or nerds are bad people or some shit?

Have you tried forum RPs. I've looked for one. It's hard to find a place that actually accepts new players.

My mother isn't one of those people who thinks D&D(Oooo an ampersande!) is the devil's work, but she does think that if I hang out with other geeks it will that mean she will never have grandchildren or something like that. I suppose I'll have to wait until college. Though, this [http://vimeo.com/7132858] might be out by then. Perhaps they will even have remote synchronization with each other. That would be EPIC and quite worth the wait(I hope).

This article just deals with the one problem I have...
Or better said, the one problem I had, now it's more a problem of time.
I hear ya, brother. But there is light at the end of the tunnel! It's no perfect solution, but there are lots of websites that offer play by post gaming. Try Googling Play By Post DnD, and you'll find there are lots of sites that give you the luxury of time while playing. If not for them, I would have gone mad from gaming deprivation a long time ago. Such is life with a hectic schedule.

Indeed I have, I do do narrative RP's over the net, but we find it a bit awkward to roll dice and such.

....Well, that is kinda offensive, ohz wellz, I don't mind much, but I feel it silly when people sterotype like that, kinda disheartening.

Hmmm, is that the Microsoft table? (Sorry, feeling too lazy to open the link.) That thing DOES look awesome, I must admit, when it has other RP systems in it as well, I'll be happy.

That has been my experience. Also, people seem to not come back after a while.

...Quite

Yep. That's it. The software is called Surfacescapes. The programmers don't even need to code all RP systems. Graphics would be difficult, but releasing a development kit would be awesome, especially because some people create their own RP systems.

It would be awesome, even if just to have there so I don't have to be keeping thousand of pieces of paper. I don't think you could use it online, at least not on this table, but in the future, who knows? Maybe they'll add natal to it as well so you can see all the other boards in a little section at the top of the table.

But yes, I agree, they should release a development kit, so at least people could try put other systems into it as well.

The table is connected to a computer. The internet aspect could come from there. I'm sure other Microsoft Surface developers have used it with the internet. How would they add "natal" to it, though?

Ha! I can't believe all these tips are cropping up at The Escapist at the minute! I just started DnDing after Christmas and this would have been seriously useful.... oh well.

Yeah finding a gaming group wasn't easy for me, i kept trying to convince different groups of my friends to join me in a game of D&D. But, sadly they never seemed to stick to the idea. I had one friend that i used to play with, but at one point he moved away. So, for a couple years i was RPGless. Until one day, i found out that one of my friends actually DMed a group of his own. so, I got a place and time and met up with them . it's been a lot of fun getting back into it with a friendly group.
