Pretty simple this time: How do you make yourself forget about things. Can be bad games, your ex, bad experiences, or the latest Michael Bay film.
Me? I just try and bide my time, and wait for me to naturally forget.

Bad game-yes. Last Micheal Bay movie-Yes (thank god). My last ex-That still pains me, thanks for making me feel pain from a year ago.

If something is worth remembering, I can't forget it. However, if something isn't memorable, I won't be able to remember it.

It's a double edged sword. Things I truly care about are stuck with me forever, but things that were extremely negative are also unable to be forgotten. Also, things that don't leave an impact on me, I have an extremely difficult time remembering. :/

To forget somthing, use your avatar to hit your self in the head. You sould forget it in no time.

I have to hit myself with an adorable rabbit?
No, he meant my avatar. Try it with an adorable rabbit though, see how it goes.

Just did. Now I'm still pained by my memories, depressed from the now dead rabbit, and bloodied from the repeated hitting.

And that is why we use sharp objects when we attack ourselves, right kiddies?

EDIT: I just realized how creepy that was. I really hope no 6 year olds read that.

I'm lucky, I have the ability to erase my own memories if I want to. I have been able to do it since I was about 8, however I can only erase minor memories, anything more significant than remembering someone's birthday is engraved in my mind (I say that because I know the birthdays of 2 people in my family, out of 5 total family members).

If I want to get rid of somethething slightly more important, then I need to get closure, no tactic will get rid of my memories, and I can't allow something to fall to the back of my head if it is unresolved.

I actually know how to make my brain have small bouts of retroactive amnesia. I seriously cannot remember anything my freshman-junior year of high school. The memories surrounding that time frame are clear as day though.

I simply read or watch a few movies. Putting myself in an alternate universe tends to help.

Ha ha. I like how the "Who smokes pot" topic just happened to be right under this one in the "Latest Posts".

I don't smoke it, though. I usually go for a walk to clear my head.

Some things can't be forgotten. Ever.

But, they can be explored, and whatever was learned can be applied positively in the future, to make sure it isn't a double-bad.

Other things go away on their own. However, I don't think we ever make ourselves forget the pains of the past. They're only gone when transcended by a greater positive.
