How to quick save on wii?

I've forgotten how to quick save downloaded games on the Wii. I've tried looking up the answer but can't find anything useful. I remember I did it with Wild guns but have forgotten how I did it. Help is appreciated.

Google told me you just press the home button and go back to the Wii start screen, then when you open the game again you will resume in the same place. Supposedly doesn't work on all games, though.

Thanks. It would be nice if the game had told me if it had a quick save feature. I guess i'll just have to find out.
