So I got my ps3 back from Sony but they had to send me back a New Old PS3 and so I put my old HDD back in and its asking me to reformat, but I refuse to, now I can't use the ps3. Is there a way to make my ps3 accept the new HDD without reformating it?

Don't post that you don't know how to, thats useless info I don't need.

You're going to have to reformat it, so my advice is backup all the save data and stuff you need on an extra HDD and then reformat and put it all back. It's about all you can do.

How could I do that to an internal HDD..?

I'm not sure if you have knowledge of PCs but you could try hooking it up to another PC and grabbing data off it like an external, otherwise you might have to try looking into an enclosure for it, but that seems a bit much.

Well the store Best Buy says they will do it for $100, but I am not too sure I will do that since I had to pay $180 for the refurbished ps3 and why parents already spent $300 on thier ps3 for netflix/blu-ray players. No doubt if I ask he will be pissed... I need to find another way, their must be a way to make it accept the HDD.

You can buy an enclosure to turn an internal HDD to an external HDD for around £20 over here, I'm sure newegg.com will have something similar for no more than $30
