First off, Hello I'm new here.

I realize this may be different in each dream you have but I've noticed a trend in my own dreams where I have Super strength (think hulk throwing cars) or even incredible agility/speed (jumping onto the roof of a house running as fast as cars) One of my most common attributes in my dreams is that I don't get scared for any reason, I get in fights with people/things I should find terrifying without so much as a second thought

Personally my favorite dream ability is agility/speed

And lastly, do you think video games can give you better control over your dreams?

If you want to tell a story about an awesome dream you had go ahead I would love to read it and for those of you too reserved to tell us one of your dreams, that's fine too.

*Edit* I occasionally find myself running on all fours in my dreams, it usually starts because I can't move as fast as I'd like or something along those lines.

If this thread keeps growing and doesn't die I'll have to keep typing out more of my dreams for you guys =P

as a side note I love everyone who's posting in this thread dreaming is one of the most awesome things in existence and I think it's great people are sharing.

Sadly, speed is one thing I was never able to master in my dreams. I always move like I'm running around in custard. I think it's probably because I rarely move in my sleep.

Anyways, my favorite ability is probably spawning almost any items I want and changing situations around whenever I'm in trouble. If i feel like I'm about to die/get hurt/whatever I just press the imaginary Esc button and I wake up.

I never seem to have enough control to scream loud enough for help or beat the giant rats back with a stick.

I can't control myself in my dreams, despite the fact that I know I'm dreaming. Slightly oddly, there exists a character in my subconscious who can... It's slightly weird, but basically there's some kind of psychotic uber-***** who exists only in my dreams, and is there purely to entertain herself by fucking with my head.

Oh, and these dreams do pre-date Inception; I'm reasonably sure I'm not inadvertently stealing an idea. It's an odd feeling, being powerless inside your own mind...

Man... I can't even imagine how messed up that could potentially be.

Nice reference, although very obscure. Unless, of course, you wanted people to be scratching their heads.
Its not about how many people get the reference. The right people will get the reference.

OT: Sometimes I can control them. And it usually ends up with me controlling people's minds and having them fight for my amusement. Also I have everything be narrated by either Patrick Stewart, Stephen Fry, Ron Perelman, and/or Morgan Freeman.

Why? Because I can.

Perfect! Confusion reins!
When I read that reference I had no idea what you were talking about and actually did scratch my head...

Even if it's a little sadistic bravo on mind control.

I have complete control of myself in my dreams, and they are always awesome. I especially love the dreams you have when you're ill - they're so much more vivid and realistic. Usually my dreams are a very surreal mix of real life events with key parts changed, imagined/hypothesised scenarios playing out and physics-defying superpowers.

I love going to sleep :D

I never have control over my own dreams. My dreams come up with a constructed identity, memories, desires, and I act according to them - I'm not me, nor even a reflection of 'me' in my dreams. I'm consequently unaware to ever realise that I am dreaming, because for that time it's the only world I've ever known. It's a little thrilling to think about it, but terrifying to wake up from.

ive been dreaming on and off for 18 years. i played video games since i was 3 and in greater quantity since i was 13 and never was i able to control myself or anything around me while dreaming.iam always a watcher either 1st or 3rd person, when ever i realize that its all a dream it takes about 5 seconds before i wake up.

on the other hand i have this thing where some times i have the same dream more then 3 times not in order tho i can dream of something once then not dream at all for few nights then have a new dream and then one day the same dream from before in the exact same sequence.
