So...Unless you like to burrow yourself under a rock, you must have a medium to large awareness of who's who in the various forms of media in your country.

That being said, if you're also aware of who's who in some other country, then do you find yourself making comparisons between the two or picking out which country sports more interesting 'celebrities'?

I found myself wandering lately about this as having lived in the UK for over 5 years now, no one in its pop culture or general media has managed to really grab my attention. Whereas people like Jon Stewart and Bill Maher over in America just happened to interest me from the moment I heard them talk.

So...discuss!

I bury myself under a computer(rock).

I don't really know the culture of my own country very well other than the stuff I really let through. I had never even heard of Katy Perry until that Pinkie Pie parody song. And I'm kinda glad I did, I greatly dislike her.

I spend most of my time enjoying Asian media. Because the few times I am exposed to American pop culture it seems to greatly annoy me. Underground culture, not so bad. Mainstream American media, no thank you.

I read various news sites (BBC, Al Jazeera mostly), but don't really know a whole lot about celebrities (never cared, never will) or sports (same with celebrities).
