So with the game fast approching (i hope) Will it bother anyone when say your standing by a Npc and MrPawnsalot stand next to you .And says -Hey why you got noob armour on lmao. I am not a hardcore role player and in this game i would not be bothered but if they did a mmo of the game Vampire the Masquerade, That would since for me it was all about the feeling you got playing it ,Lets face it the game hade a few* problems. And TOR started out as a single player experiance so i was curious. Star wars fan are just as crazy as Star trekkiess..well almost. And some people could not stand playing along side Captain Crazylegs in the starship bananasmoke. So how about you ?

Assuming the games chat and interface system works similar to most Everquest-clones (I say this not in the pejorative, its simply a subtype of MMORPG, for instance World of Warcraft is one), you'll have the option to disable your chat box, or filter out certain things like local chat (/say or the general area chat). And most also have the options to disable names either unless you mouse over the character or just disabled entirely unless selected.

So if I was feeling the need for super immersion I'd turn off player names and just minimize the chat box entirely. My friends all have my phone number anyway.

Are you kidding me? I want to be a flamboyantly gay bounty hunter that flies around in a bright-pink ship named the Bootyhunter and only dress in drag.

MMOs are about getting to the top and becoming the best in a semi-competitive environment. If I want super-duper immersion I'll play a single-player game.
