Worried? No. Resigned? Yes.

We have not had a presidential candidate who wasn't a blatantly corrupt self serving total idiot in decades. More accurately, we haven't had a presidential candidate that wasn't a blatantly corrupt self serving total idiot that actually bothered to hide the fact that they were a blatantly corrupt self serving total idiot in decades.

They don't even pretend anymore. Presidential elections (and Mayoral elections, and Senate elections, and...) are not a choice between Jesus Christ and Mother Teresa, or whatever two typical personifications of purity you want to name, it's a choice between getting stabbed in the left eye and getting stabbed in the right eye. There's no real difference and they are both equally terrible.

Worst of all is Trump. Not only was it clear long before he ever tried (so before all the decades that Trump has been trying to get into the Presidency) that Trump should never have gotten anywhere within a million miles of the Presidency to begin with, but short of blowing up random U.S. cities for fun Trump has done everything possible to prove beyond a shadow a doubt he is an awful President and doesn't deserve to be the President in any way whatsoever. If there was the smallest, microscopic shred of sense anywhere literally nobody, not a one, in the whole of U.S. would be voting for this guy. It's like someone voting to drink molten lava right after watching the last guy who tried to do that be melted alive. It's not like we don't even know how awful Trump is.

There's no real difference, but worst of all is Trump?

Yes, the US political system is full of people that leave a lot to be desired, but that's not remotely the same as saying there's no real difference. There's always a lesser evil, especially when one evil is cartoon villain evil.

As an aside, Mother Teresa was a monster along the same level as Trump. She has good PR for "helping the poor", but the way she was "helping" them was forcing them to suffer and die because it brings humanity closer to Jesus or whatever. Not her, of course, when she got sick she went to the US for expensive treatment she made damned sure poor people couldn't get.

I am in the bizarre position of hoping Joe Biden wins and ends this thing.
If Trump wins, the House is still under Democratic control. Rather than do the people's work, the House will constantly try to Impeach him. I am tired of trying to defend such a terribly flawed human being.
I'll look to see a thread in this forum of predictions of what a Biden presidency will mean. It won't be pretty.
I think my immediate family will be fine in Biden's USA. More war, taxes, job killing regulations, Romney Care, hollowing out of the US economy as we get sold out to China? We're in a strange situation where I think we'll possibly even benefit from all of that.

But I'll be able to say, "told you so" and then maybe, we can get less war, lower taxes, etc. brought to us by someone a heck of a lot easier to defend than the Donald.

I wish they'd be less war.
