How would WoW end?

Just read the article on Matrix Online ending with the Matrix dissolving into nothing. Also read about how Tabula Rasa had the final fight.

WoW seems to be going strong, but after the final Lich King boss is revealed, will there be anything left? I don't play WoW myself, but I'd be interested in hearing how the saga ends in maybe the next 10 years, depending on when WC4 is released.

Or will the Horde and the Alliance go back to their never ending struggle?

After Wrath of the Lich King we're going to the Emerald Dream and the central continent called The Maelstrom. Jdging from patents and official revelas and interviews.

I think, if they were to end it, they'd have Sargearas, the creator of the Burning Legion, to come and destroy everything.

WoW will end when a supervillan creates a virus that only effects nerds. The entire world population of nerds will die out and anyone who thinks about playing it after the virus wont be able to because there will be no nerds to help with computer problems.

I think it will end in a bloody mess with all the subscribers that have been playing it since the start commencing in mass suicide

World of Warcraft is pretty much the quintessential fantasy MMO, Everquest aside. I don't think it's going to end up, well, ending for years, and even if it did, it'd go out with a massive bang.

Well it will end if/when it becomes no longer popular because they have traded up to WoW2 or something. But as far as the story ending? I don't think there HAS to be an ending. They can just keep writing new stuff and adding continents or other planes of existence etc...

If they wanted to end it though? Probably a giant Alliance vs. Horde mega battle.
